TInk Occultists: Explain Yourselves!

Over the past few months an e-group of mostly British NS players has formed into a "Cult of TInk", which means that I got some tough questions.

1. What is the Cult of TInk?

2. What is its purpose?

3. Why was it formed?

4. Why TInk?

5. What, if any, are the benefits of the Cult?

6. What are the Cult's beliefs?

Well, the Cult of Tink is now a NS Political Party, which you can attempt to join. :)

The Cult of Tink is basically a cult that worships HRH Queen of General FairyTInkArisen. Benefits include a diety you can actually see that exists who is quite a nice and caring individual as well. Attractive too, apparently - although I haven't seen any pictures.

2. I can "see" TInk the same way I "see" Christ. In the form of pictures.

3. How do you know she's nice and caring to her flock?

I'll attempt to answer your questions even though I'm strictly speaking not a member...
1. What is the Cult of TInk? The Cult of Tink is a cult formed by fanatic worshippers of FairyTInkArisen (familiarly known as Tink), supposedly the Queen of General.

2. What is its purpose? See above.

3. Why was it formed? See above.

4. Why TInk? Tink is one of the most popular NSers around and one of the most noticeable posters. She has left her mark on nearly everyone in this forum in some way or another.

5. What, if any, are the benefits of the Cult? You get to have a sentence in your signature that says "Member of the Cult of TInk". :D

6. What are the Cult's beliefs? See the thread. It has mainly socially liberal views but politically authoritarian ones, since there are no elections and the supposed queen tends to be more than usually corrupt, taking influences from her friends and appointing them chief officers.

You've explained it fairly well.

Everyone else, you can find and join the Cult of TInk Party (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=418619) here. It's a serious political party which will be standing in the NS General election on June 2nd, and which both puts forth a number of policies dear to our exalted leader's heart, and affirms our worship of her as Queen of General. ;)

The Cult itself, which predated the Party, sprang up more or less spontaneously, and is a loose movement which brings together all those who worship HRH TInk. Membership of the Cult cannot be explained, it must be experienced. If in your heart you feel you are a Cultist, then you will join us. :D

He sounds like a fool anyway. All men are capable of reason, at least on the onset of their lives. The real question in most instances is how cabable they are of doing this once they reach the age of majority. Everything we think and feel about the world around us is a result of the reason we've used to reach these conclusions. Whether this reason is built primarily on logic and reason or emotion, or blatant fallacies or what-have-you is another issue.

Well, I'm not really adressing the Cult with the above statement, I'm expressing my contempt for some of Mencken's ideas.

Still, from where I sit it's a damning endictment of human intellect that so many people endorse implicitly everything she [or anyone else] says. If I were interested in 'taking it too seriously' I'd probably leave my chair.

Tink is just someone we all like.

I endorse implicity what Tink says because this is a Message Board. I'm a Liberal in real life, and question everything my government does. I wouldn't follow someone in real life Politics as slavishly as on this message board. As an aside, myself and Tink actually agree on several political points of view, but that's besides the point. :)

EDIT: Also, I'd just like to point out that a group that follows one leader is in fact a Sect, and not a Cult, which often does not have any form of heirarchy and is a loose coalition of people. :) A lot of people get the name wrong.

Oh, I don't agree with Mencken on everything, far from it. He was the complete opposite of a socialist, after all. But the points where I strongly diverge from him are probably those where you would most agree with him, and vice-versa.

And when he looks down on people who express what he calls "moral indignation" and try to spoil other people's harmless fun, I do agree with him (to a significant degree, not all the way).

I beg to differ. Reason in this instance should be dissociated from everything that most men use as the building blocks of all their beliefs and ways of seeing the world. I would argue that for most the prime material in that is emotion and, often, unthinking "morality".

But that's a whole other discussion, and this is not the place for it. ;)

Well, the Cult of Tink is now a NS Political Party, which you can attempt to join. :)

The Cult of Tink is basically a cult that worships HRH Queen of General FairyTInkArisen. Benefits include a deity you can actually see that exists who is quite a nice and caring individual as well. Attractive too, apparently - although I haven't seen any pictures.

It's a bit of a 'personality cult' that's formed around Tink and her ever growing
saga as she tries to win her beloved Geek, manage her country and survive teenage life... and yes she's quite attractive and voluptuous to boot.

All hail Tink,
Cathenia
