If you're not from the USA you might not be aware that there's a reality show that's been running for several years now called Fear Factor. In it people compete for $50,000 by doing "dangerous" stunts and disgusting activities. Activities like being burried in slugs or drinking a cup of pureed maggots.

Would any of you ever compete on fear factor? Does $50,000 make up for eating a bowl of live earthworms with alfredo sauce and washing it down with a moaggot milkshake on national TV? How desparate for money are the people who compete on that show? They don't look like crackheads. Maybe they're degenerate gamblers.

Well I from the other side of the pond and I did think of this while watching Fear Factor at times. I think that I'd do all the stunts and maybe eat some but not all of the other things. My only problem would be maggots and worms I hate them. But I don't know how I'd do until I was put into that situation.

I would never sacrifice my integrity for $50,000. Case closed.

Maybe for some other things though... ;)

The original idea is actually from a Dutch TV-show called "Now or Never land".

Anyway: what's so bad about eating gross stuff. People will have seen you gag on TV. If they are not your friends or family they will have forgotten all about you within a month. So why not?

Let me rephrase that. The idea (also three rounds, also eating gross stuff) of Now or Never Land was sold to the makers of Fear Factor
