Chocodile Hunter.

A long time ago, when I was a kid, there was a snack cake that made the days brighter. It was called a chocodile. I used to love chocodiles. Just thinking about em brings back fond memories. But then, one day, they vanished. Just up and went away. And the days grew a bit dimmer. :(

I was watching a TV show a few days ago, and someone brought someone else on the show a 'forgive me' gift of chocodiles. Yes! I was certain I heard that right, chocodiles!

Well now, what the hell was going on?!? I haven't seen a chocodile in almost 20 years! Where the hell did THEY get chocodiles from?!? Determined to find out, I stopped by the Hostess Bakery Thriftshop in my neighborhood and while I was stocking up on cupcakes and hohos, I asked about the chocodile. And the lady there said that they still sell chocodiles in some parts of the country. To think! All these years, I have been deprived, DEPRIVED of chocodiles for decades and somewhere in America, people snack on chocodiles to their heart's delight! It was quite a shock.

Well, I just looked up chocodiles on Google, and I found a business that actually specializes in shipping chocodiles! Really! They send chocodiles to all those parts of the country and (I'm assuming) the world that have no chocodiles of their own.

$9 a box! My lord, what a racket! That's hardly fair that I have to pay so much when others snack on low cost chocodiles. I ordered four boxes. :p

lol..when I was a kid (not so long ago), there were these nifty chocolate balls that came with lil toys inside. I remember getting one in which you put this lil person together. These "Wonderballs" are but meager imitations with their single sticker, and whathave you. Also, whatever happened to that kangaroo cracker thing you'd dip into chocolate it came with?

I just googled Chocodiles. *stares*It's a choccy coated twinky. My gods. It's...wonderful...LG...Would you happen to send a box my way? As..a..um...way to bridge the gap between generations...or..something?

I completely missed the caramel ho hos...gods...I've been missing out. And I'm so hungry.

We here in Australia (maybe elsewhere, I don't know) have things called Kinder Surprises. You pay around a dollar for a hollow egg made of that gritty compound chocolate and *gasp* a small toy. Good times, as far as I can remember.

Dude! That's it! Except..I'm pretty sure it wasn't gritty. Regardless..I want one.

I'm afraid that any chocodiles that make it into my presence are not long for this world. But you're right. That's exactly what it is; a chocolate covered twinkie. So simple. So elegant. And ooooohhhhhhh so yummy. *eyes glaze over*

The obvious solution is to hijack the truck then. I'm sorry, LG, but we all sacrifice something, sometime. *evil laughter*

Well, fine, maybe they weren't gritty, but I'd still rather have Lindt or Guylian any day...

If you checked, you'd see that they're made in Italy. So yeah I think they're found around the world. Get them here in HK and also in NZ. And Italy too I'd imagine.
The chocolate isn't gritty! It's supersmooth. White chocolate coated with milk chocolate. *Drools*
Great toys too. The toy inside (the egg is about the size of a small hen's egg to the sadly-missing-out) is usually in pieces and you have to make it up.
For you Americans:

Canadians (though anyone should check it out as they show the toys):

Brits:

Go on - succumb to the temptation that is Kinder Surprise Egg!

My nostalgic indulgence is Mallow Cups. I remember being about four years old and getting all sticky-fingered eating one of those.

Tastykake original chocolate cupcakes are awesome, too. They remind me of my college days when I practically lived on them. Mmmm....that rubbery icing.
