Before you guys begin debating whether you would rather have someone beautiful and dumb, or ugly yet smart, I better tell you that this is not what this thread is about.

I was reading the thread regarding women's chest sizes and what was the prefered size. After I placed a comment, a guy replied saying that there were so many other things in a partner, such as eyes and hair, etc.

So it got me athinking...what do people generally look for in a potential partner - not just men - women also...

(1) What do you look for in a person?

(2) Which physical feature of a man/woman do you like the most?

(3) Describe your perfect partner.

Well - the first thing I notice about a girl is her face, her smile - she has to have a smile that lights up the room around her. She must be kind, caring, warm and funny - we must share at least some similar interests, but not exactly the same - otherwise we'd have nothing to talk about. She must be intelligent and able to think for herself, and must be faithful.

What physical attribute do I like the most? Well - apart from her smile of course, she has to have curves - women who are all skin and bone are not attractive at all. She has to be slim, but curvy. Otherwise - I'd say her chest size ;) 34C and upwards in my opinion.

I think I described her already - up there. But my perfect partner? My girlfriend :)

Main things I look for in the person:
Intelligence
Knowledge
An opinion
Stubbornness
Morality
Physical Features:
None in particular. If the personality is right then they are the most beautiful person in the world physically.

smart, funny, ambitious, kind, sweet, romantic, someone who isn't afraid to follow his dreams, compassionate, generous, doesn't smoke

not too tall, i don't like guys with overly huge muscles, i much prefer a bit of chubbiness, nice eyes (not really bothered about colour), brown hair, nice smile

well, i've yet to meet my perfect partner but i'm not expecting him to be everything i just said when i do

1) Sense of humour, intelligence, kindness, quirkyness, open mindedness, tolerance of my own weirdness.

Heck, I don't ask for much do I? ;)

2) Often it's hard to describe exactly, just a certain indefinable something.

3) Well, currently he's in the shower, so naked, about 5"9, gorgeous green eyes, floppy hair, big black tattoo, smile that makes me melt inside... Generous, gentle, respects me, respects women in general, helpful, considerate, sexy as Hell... Am I lucky or what?

Dumb and ugly. Violent, arrogant and disrespectful.

2) The whole picture has to be right. Some are beautiful skinny, some fat, some tall, some short, some big-breasted, some small breasted, shorthaired, longhaired. There are endless combinations and I like a variety of them.

I look for someone with good personality, sense of humore and believe it or not, a very good-shaped nose. I know it's weird but I think guys with sharp or roman noses are sexy.

Intelligent, witty, spiritual, able to detach emotionally, secure in their own identity, empathetic, courageous, creative, with liberal and humanist-existential tendencies.

Big seventies sideburns an advantage.

I have a history of crushes on blokes that make other women recoil in horror. I sometimes don't see things that other people think are obvious. I was surprised to discover that friends of mine are "effnick," "fat," and "gay" because I simply didn't notice. Attraction is subjective. If my peers found him unnattractive and yet he had those qualities, he'd be beautiful to me.

(!) Humour, intelligence, being comfortable with who they are, joie de vivre (sp?), honesty, tolerance.

(@) Eyes. SO the eyes.

(#) Physically: between 5'10", real blonde, not yellow, curly-ish hair, light-blue eyes, like the sky, curves, though not TOO many, C cup, though not bigger, lips not thin, great smile.
Personality: As above, plus belief in God, quasi-Catholic, some athleticism.
Not sure what else.

Btw, I've never found that girl, but what I've described is a cross between my two best friends...

That's a difficult question... I normally don't go around analysing people to find out if they would be my type.

But generally speaking, I would be looking for somebody with the same sense of humor, somebody who is very intelligent (more intelligent than me, that is, so we're talking more than 138 here ;) ), somebody who is creative and a bit of an artist, somebody who is compassionate, politically left-wing and non-smoker.
I don't care about appearance too much, but he should give it some thought and not just grab the first T-Shirt that doesn't stand up on its own. Apart from that, I really don't care, short or tall, chubby or skinny, black or blonde, I don't have any preferences there.

This might sound very egoistic, but what attracts me most is if I get the feeling the other person likes me and appreciates me.

I gave up looking for qualities in a partner a long time ago. It isn't a perfect world and if you meet the perfect partner you are more lucky than you can imagine.
Someone nice, that's all I'm after. Anything else is a plus.

Oh and Tink, don't say no to an overly muscled, tall guy. They can be nice guys too, and aren't necessarily looking for bodily perfection in their partner.

Depends on what kind of person. If we're talking about a mate...
Personality-wise: Good sense of humour, interesting, smart (or at least not a total idiot), individuality, willing to say "no" to me, has some limits, not a whore, some similar interests & likes, crazy enough to love a guy like me. ;)
Appearence-wise: Nice hair (especially red for females), nice legs, nice butt, pale, pretty face, glasses!

It's all about personality. Trustworthy, interesting, slightly amusing at the very least, fun, respectful and neither ignorant nor arrogant.

5'4" and above...funny...with brains, but not super-intellegent...confident, but not arrogant nor cocky...hair colour not important at all, but having hair on their head is a requirement...long legs...a smile that lights up the atomsphere of the room...eyes that I could gaze into and feel as if I am staring into heaven it self...chest size is absolutely not an issue with me...
