Iris is an excellent song. The Goo Goo Dolls wrote many of my favorites, though probably not my #1 at the moment.

"Wounded" by Third Eye Blind.
"Best I Ever Had" by Vertical Horizon
"3 Libras" by A Perfect Circle
"Short Skirt, Long Jacket" by Cake
"Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails
"Parabol / Parabola" by Tool

'I'm the Only Hell (Mama Ever Raised)-Johnny Paycheck
Well, I cant sell my momma short on loving me,
I guess that's why she let me go so far,
Momma always stopped me short of stealing,
I guess thats why I had to steal that car,
She told me not to smoke it, but I did and it took me far away,
And I turned out to be, THE ONLY HELL MY MOMMA EVER RAISED.
I pulled into Atlanta
stolen tags and almost out of gas,
I had to get some money, and lately I'd learned how to get it fast,
Those neon lights was calling me
and somehow I had to get downtown,
I reached into the glovebox, another liquor store went down.
CHORUS:
And I sing "Precious Memories," take me back to the good ol' days.
I can hear my momma singing, "Rock of Ages" clept(?) for me,
She tried to turn me on to Jesus, but I turned on to the devil's ways,
And I turned out to be...THE ONLY HELL MY MOMMA EVER RAISED.
When they put those handcuffs on me,
Lord how I fought to resist,
But that agent clamped'em tighter, 'til that metal bit into my wrist,
They took my boots and my billfold,
my fingerprints, and the profile of my face,
Then they locked away, THE ONLY HELL MY MOMMA EVER RAISED.
Chorus.
there's some good songs here already. i like iris, hurt, short skirt/long jacket, but my favorite song of all time has to be 'Getaway Car' by Audioslave. not a fast, angry song, as people might expect from audioslave, but on the contrary: it's slow, soothing, and kind of sad. it's on their first cd, which is amazing, and i highly recommend everyone get their new one, "out of exile,' it comes out wednesday.
getaway car:
the first time i saw you, you were
chasing down
a cyclone all alone in a field
with railyards and clovers i came
rolling on
never thought you'd wind up chasing
me
chorus:
settle down, i won't hesitate
to hit the highway
before you lay me to waste, no
saddle up and i'll
help you find
something to drive
before you drive me insane
you're tired, of walking and you
loathe the ground
the sidewalk barely touches your
feet
life moves too slowly to
hold you down
with ring in hand you take it out on
me
chorus
solo
chorus
get yourself a car, and drive it all alone
ooooo
get yourself a car, ride it on the wind, yeah
get yourself a car, and drive it all alone
ooooo
get yourself a car, ride it on the wind

"Favourite song EVER??"
Unchained Melody
Lyrics:
Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time,
Time goes by so slowly and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, God speed your love to me.
Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh, "Wait for me, wait for me"
"I'll be coming home, wait for me!"
Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time,
Time goes by so slowly and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, God speed your love to me.
This song holds incredible memories for me. I was dancing with a girl I had met while I was in collge, a delightful young woman who asked me what I thought about her. I replied that, if I weren't careful, I would be falling in love with her. She was the first woman I ever truly "made love to," as opposed to "having sex with." SIGH! [ begins to cry ] ;)

Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum;
Deine Zauber binden wieder,
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
Wem der große Wurf gelungen,
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein,
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen,
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund.
Freude trinken alle wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur,
Küsse gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben,
Und der Cherub steht vor Gott!
Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels Prächt'gen Plan,
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.
Seid umschlungen, Millionen,
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder! über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen,
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
über Sternen muß er wohnen.

Rex Tremendae from Mozarts Requiem
I cannot say how much I approve of that choice. Whilst personally I prefer Dies Irae from Mozarts Requiem, and I find that the completion of Lacrimosa and Amen by (damnit! I can never remember his name, but he works with Boston Baroque) , to be very enjoyable also.

Lacrimosa is my second choice while Dies Irae is my third from the Requiem. Classical Vocal music is not my passion though. This particular song from this particular Requiem is an exception. The passion is so tremendous, it's almost unbearably beautiful.

"Favourite song EVER??" Unchained Melody. This song holds incredible memories for me.
Aw, me too. That song was playing in the taxi the very last time I saw my best friend. I get twinges of despair every time I hear it. Hence it not being my favourite.
My favourite song would have to be Paranoid Android (or maybe Polyethylene) by Radiohead... Although OK Computer is, IMO, the greatest album of all time.
I love most of Crowded House's stuff - Four Seasons in One Day is one of my favourites.
At the moment I love "This Old Love" by Lior, and "The Drop" by Regurgitator. I still ove Stockholm Syndrome by Muse - I can't seem to get tired of any of their stuff. "Unintended" is a really good song.
