Actually, I think that if you want to ask someone out, whether they ( or you ) are male or female, the best thing to do is ... ask them out! I mean, what the hell do you have to lose, right? :)

My best friend has this theory that guys HAVE to ask, but then she got sick of waiting for her (now ex) boyfriend to ask her so she just turned around one day and said 'Oh fo f**k's sake just ask me out!'. And he did.

Actually, I think that if you want to ask someone out, whether they ( or you ) are male or female, the best thing to do is ... ask them out! I mean, what the hell do you have to lose, right? :)
true.. .but some guys say that if the girl asks it makes them feel wierd... and if the girl doesnt ask, but the guy is to shy... it's very messy and complicated

Well guys that say that are weird themselves. So that makes them even. See how that works?
I doesn't matter at all! Though as a male I'd prefer females to ask.

Depends on the situation. I'm shy, so I prefer girls to ask, but... generally guys are s'posed to be asking.
Im a guy and i have no problem with girls askin me out. Although they usually never have to. :fluffle:
Well I would love it if a girl asked me out...actually, I did. My girl was awesome and pretty much informed me she loved me right out. The guy would have to be a complete asshole if he got upset that a girl asked him out.
I say people should always let their feelings be known. If a girl likes a guy, she should go for it and vice versa.

I believe it depends on the situation. I would probably, in most situations, rather ask guys out than have them ask me.
I would rather that the girl did the asking. I'm a guy, by the way. One who is too shy to ask... :(

I think if you are interested in someone, you should ask them. I don't care if you are male or female, just ask them. Shyness is a problem, and hopefully one can overcome that (it's not easy, believe me, I know).

You forgot the very important other choice - "nobody asks anybody out" - which is, sadly, the most common choice of all.
As far as the context of your question; there is no reason to let the equipment between your legs determine your behavior.

I'm a female. I prefer for the guy to mention it.. but it's not like I wouldn't if he didn't. If we are clicking then it's usually a given and mentioned in the conversation with ease about getting together again. If a guy I have never met or been around before asked me out.. then I'd just go on my gut instinct and mood at the time as to what I'd say.

As a guy, I would prefer it if women asked the men out first.
However, the women I would actually consider dating are too shy to ask me out, so we end up dancing around each other in circles. Almost certainly it will be me who has to make the first move. Unfortunately, with the current object of my desire, we really don't know each other that well. So I have to be extra careful in the way I approach this.
BTW I'm 25. I probably should have learned all these things a long time ago. :: shrug ::

I prefer to get asked (I'm a guy). I haven't currently got the nerves to ask - though I'm working on it (albeit slowly).
