Inspired by the mediocraty of sucess I had with my thread about Coldplay, I decided to see if I could better that with a thread about Athlete. I personally prefer the second album, in particular 'Wires', 'Half light' and 'I love'. But I'd be interested to see what other people think

Half light is a really good song :) . I havn't listened to the other stuff yet but a friend of mine says that "wires" is good!
Just listened to "Wires", it's a beautiful song though slightly depressing and I feel isn't as good as Half Light! :D

Are you bored just because its slow or some other reason. Wires is a song about a premature child of the lead singers. If you listen to it you can see why. It is truely beautiful.

You clearly havent heard their first album. Its very distinctive from Coldplay.

Met them, interviewed em and seen them in concert twice. But i'm not a big fan. They're ok, nice guys but nothing special.

I have. It made me fall asleep. El Salvador was alright. Until I realised that it sounded so much like Complicated by Avril Lavigne. Or was that the other song? Oh well, it's all the same anyway :p

Can't stand Coldplay. Love Athlete.
I note that although Athlete and Keane are massively different I can't recall one immeditately after the other. A bit like the Mission: Impossible theme and the James Bond theme...
Haven't heard their first album, only heard about it recently.

Its very good. I recomend "Vehicles & Animals", "Out of nowhere" and "Beautiful"
