Messageboards as a way of avoiding work.

Okay, so it's saturday night on the May Two-Four Long Weekend, (a big deal here in Canada. Its Victroia Day, but we just call it "Two-Four") and I brushed off all my friends invitations in order to stay home and work on actually FINISHING several songs I'm working on. I've gotten some stuff done, but not nearly as much as I would if I wasn't checking the messageboards I'm a member of, and POSTING too  Its just too convenient. I have only one computer, and I use it both for major parts of my music AND for the internet. This is nuts! If I don't finish some tracks soon, I'm in deep poop, not to mention losing income. (Gnashes teeth, punches self in head)

Does anybody else do this kind of thing, or am I the only one?

Nope, you're not alone because I do it too! *Wonders what Victoria Day is*

I use the computer for rendering motion-graphics sequences and a whole lot else including posting messages here (and sometimes not just while the renderer is working, which kinda proves your point). Some days are better than others.

I've got some frickin' hilarious stuff I'm putting together, though... when it's done I'll probably post a link here, and end up getting booted no doubt. Or sued. One or the other. Or maybe both.

The late Queen Victoria's birthday, of course. You silly!

Really? We celebrate the Queen's birthday on the second Monday of June (except in West Australia where they put it on some random day in late September/early October. The Kiwis place it on the first monday of June.

Its good to know I'm not the only one. I did the same thing in College, but thought I'd be over such things by now. Old habits die hard.

Ithink Victoria Day falls on May 24th because of some weird quirk of history. Maybe another Canadian better versed in our history than myself can clarify that. If (well, when) I finish the tracks I might give link to the record company sight. Its all electronic, mostly good old fashioned banging techno and some freaky, funky electro. Meant for the dancefloor, really...not most peoples cup of tea. I may not though. I like being just some basicly anonymous person on here. If I manage not to make a complete ass of myself during my first completely live performances I'll post a link to one of them. All my practice sessions have beeen winceworthy and little else, so I won't hold my breath on that. Funny how the real work starts AFTER the record deal.
