do any of y'all read manga?

they are wicked over priced and its annoying to have to read from back to front (why cant they just flip the images?)

but they can be fun

i just bought the rest of the HELLSING series off of amazon.com. alucard is my favorite manga character so far. he is a very japanese version of count dracula who is currently employed by the hellsing foundation as a vampire hunter. very bloody

i also just bought the rest of VAMPIRE GAME out of borders. (hmmm is there a theme here?) its the fun story of a girl and her pet cat-like creature who is really the reincarnation of the vampire king who was killed by her great grandfather 100 years ago

then there is REVOLUTIONARY GIRL, the story of an extremely odd boarding school where the student council is in league with "end of the world" who is going to bring some kind of mystical revolution to the world.

we have a few others floating around but these are the only ones i have bought all the issues to

so does anyone else like manga?

I haven't read any manga but I've seen quite a few episodes of Dragonball Z:

Goku: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!! (powering up involves shouting for some reason)

5 minutes of yelling and glowing later

Vegeta (in thought): Impossible! How did Kakarot get such power??

Goku unleashed energy, which travels slowly toward the enemy.

1 minute later, energy hits bad guy, who shrugs it off (meanwhile all surrounding wilderness/city gets destroyed, and the good guys are completely indifferent...)

And so on. At the end of the episode they've completed about 1/5 of a fight scene.

GUNNM

or battle angel alita, for the english version.

i kinda like reading them backwards, dunno why, but it seems more natural(or easier at least) to flip through books and magazines 'backwards'

plus it preserves the original artwork/layout etc.

read someplace that more of the errors/imperfections are noticeable when you flip/mirror artwork. not sure why, probabally something pysch-related.

Do you happen to know if it's better then the anime? I know there is a bit of difference in the ending ,but thats it.

It has some extra stuff in in there. Pretty funny yet hard to follow.

Sounds ok, I think I might read it the next time I go to the book store.
