Never even tried a cigarette. Never tried weed. Not a smoker.
OK, OK, I had a couple of cigars on a few separate occasions, but I usually refrain from them.
I am a midnight toker. I get my lovin' on the run. Wooo Wooooo.

I don't smoke, and I don't plan to. However, I would like a pipe in order to smoke potato skins or oregano, just because pipes are suave. And if someone passed a joint over to me (containing hash) then I might take a puff.

ex-smoker
at most ill have about 3 in a regular day but i frequently go without for about 5 days.
When I'm out drinking ill smoke like a twenty though
I hardly smoke. I have smoked often at 2 or so cigarettes a day, but have always been careful of how much. I have tested myself by quitting with no problem, and have not had a cigarette in 2 months now. No problems.

You forgot to make it so I could choose more than one option. I smoke cigars and pot. Though I am currently trying to quit the cigars. I chose a piss poor time to do that, but also a good one. I have to make a special trip to get them and I haven't had time to go all the way out there, but there have been more than a few occassions where I could have gone for a smoke so that for at least ten to forty-five minutes nothing new and bad could happen. And what I've been doing has also been a little frustrating so not having the 'fix' has made my patience with that a little too short. But, I don't want to breath through a hole in my throat, so...

I smoke the occasional good cigar and have a humidor with some nice ones (no Cubans... boohoo!), and as of next month will be cigarette free for a year! It can be done! :D The Mr. is happier too... :)

Except that Bill Hicks died of cancer at 34. One of the things that prompted me to try and quit. I'm a big fan of his, I'd rather still have him around.
Not to say that I don't find pros in smoking, and if people want to do it, whatever. But still, quoting Bill Hicks or invoking him in defence of smoking does carry some irony.

Yeah, that too. I'd rather spend my money on mobile phone ringtones, which is saying something since I also despise the idea of buying them.

I smoke a pipe. My default tobacco is Old Port: Its Danish, its mild, it has a very nice aroma. When I have lots of cash, or feel I need a treat, I buy special blends, made to order by a local Tobacconist.
Cigars smell like old man farts. Blech. Not even cigarettes can compete with the stench of a stogey.

Incidently, thats one of the best things about cigars. I used to call them my "Leave me alone" sticks, 'cause when I smoke them people would leave me the fuck alone.
Sometimes, and I don't intend to speak for all smokers, but sometimes smokers are smoking to get rid of nearby non-smokers.

Cigars: Arturo Fuente, Perdomo, and La Gloria Cuban are my favorite.
There is something about a man enjoying a good cigar for an hour and a half that really pisses women off. I smoke either at my cigar shop or in my back yard. When I get in the house, I dropped my clothes in the washing machine and turn it on, spray room freshener as I walk through the house, take a mouthful of the harshest Listerine mouthwash, jump in the shower with the water set to scald, wash my hair several times with every different kind of shampoo, and scrub every skin cell with Dial soap until I'm raw, spit our the mouthwash, then brush my teeth repeatedly, shave twice, and crawl in bed with my wife. I snuggle up to her, and she says: "You stink."

Thats so true. I still enjoy a nice cigar now and again. It usually invovlves sitting in my sculpture studio (out in an old coachhouse behind my place) and smoking up a storm with a friend. Nobody bugs us, we stink up the air and trade war stories which anyone else around need not hear. The irony is in the fact that I'm only 31. Practicing for old age I suppose.
Particularily when I've packed a bowl of fine blend, people gravitate towards me, even otherwise vehemenent non-smokers. If big tobacco got its head out of its arse, it'd start offering aromatic cigarettes. Hopefuly they don't. Even as a smoker, I see smoking as an addiction that it isn't wise to have. But damn, it's such a fine thing to sit down and spend 45 minutes enjoying a nice pipeful of tobacco at the end of the day.
I'm not a smoker. Even if I were legally old enough to smoke, I still wouldn't, for all of the following reasons:
(1) My brother has asthma, and I know what problems second-hand smoke could cause him.
(2) Bad for my health
(3) Stinks/bad for my breath
(4) Bad for other people's breath that I don't even know but care about for some unknown reason
(5) Disgusted by the idea
(6) Knew someone who died of lung cancer
(7) Don't want yellow teeth
(8) Don't want to conform to society's warped view of "cool" and/or "sexy".
(9) Saw an anti-smoking video in K-5 that was seriously traumatic.
(10) Smoking is annoying to me

Oh man, I miss all of that and I only decided to quit less than a month ago. I'm 33 and started when I was 21 and trying to do that exhaling/re-inhaling into the brandy snifter thing. I did a pipe for a while during my 'fancy pants' period 'cause some friends bought me one to go with the brimmed hat/wingtip shoes nonsense I was sporting at the time, trying to look like I was a jazz player from an imaginary era. Though I think I got closer to that wedging a lit Schemelpennick into the key stems of my sax while I took a solo and casually taking a drag during applause. Man, what a prissy little ass I was...

I switched to the pipe a couple years a go, to replace my disgusting cigarette habit. I'll have to quit smoking the pipe too. While much more pleasent and cheaper, it isn't any healthier. My dad smokes a pipe, so it wasn't such a stretch for me to switch.. I don't drink alcohol, so I prefer a nice big cup of tea to go with my pipe tobacco. Cigars are so obnoxious, I feel perfectly fine sipping on a can of Coke.

Alright, I've been smoking a pack a day since up until four years ago, then I completely stopped.
A few months ago I started again smoking a pack a day. Now I more or less stopped, because smoking is just a really annoying habit, but every now and then, when I'm really stressed out, I start again and smoke a pack.
I was so stupid to start again, I'm really pissed at myself.

i smoke weed on a frequent daily basis (well, used to... really should stop now) but i don't smoke fags, simply cos there's no real point. with pot at least you get high, cigarettes get you nothing. and yeah i have tried.
i do smoke flavoured tobacco through a hookah pipe though...:)

I consider myself a "non-smoking smoker". Since I work in a casino, I inhale about a pack or 2 a week of secondhand smoke.

I smoke alot of pot (probably more then is healthy), don't ever smoke tobacco (except maybe once in 6 weeks with chronic) and rarely do any other drugs, none of which are smoked.
Being a non-smoker when I do smoke a bit of tobacco it really messes me up, especially with chronic.

I am now a casual non social smoker. 2 or 3 cigarretes a day. I used to be a hardcore cigar-cigarrette smoker, when I was younger and had the money to afford it: 2 or 3 packs a day and cigars when I could buy them , and have time to enjoy them. It is bad when the vice takes you over, specially when we're talking bout toxic multinationals manufactured smokes BUT, now I grow my own tobacco and I must say, It's A Pleasant Time In The Day When You Light One Up.

You don't have an option for smokers of both tobacco and weed.
I only recently quit smoking a cig in the morning after breakfast, and in the evening after dinner, as well as the occasional joint at social occassions with friends.

Ive been smoking almost a pack a day for years. Its the only thing that keeps me sane during school. ( I work 40+ hours/week and take anywhere from 15-21 units a semester) Its nice to take a break in a busy schedule and just sit and relax with a smoke, even though I know it will be the death of me, literally. I plan on quiting as soon as I graduate, so after next semester I should be smoke free. Having a nurse as a girlfriend pretty much ensures I will succeed, she hates it and wont shut up about it sometimes. :)
