I was wondering, would anyone be in favor of creating a massive defence army, instead of having several small defence regions? I was partially inspired by Star Wars.

I haven't yet. What do you think of the idea though? It would bring about a unified army of defenders instead of several militias.

Well sure if i was Emperor id love it but then id be The Republic and 'the Rebels' would try and stop me.
But its a dangerous idea

Why would it be so? Oh yes, the chance of a power struggle. We're talking about on NationStates right? I am.

Exactly, it would cause a power struggle on a massive scale. That would be enough to destroy the army.

Nah, can't be done. Who would control it? Who would they answer to if the power went to their heads? Besides, belonging to a defender nation myself, I know who I'm dealing with. Could I trust someone who wasn't part of my nation.
If you want to start up a grand army I suggest you create your own nation for the purpose of the "Grand Army", and recruit as many as possible.
