Ffc2 seem to have his hart in the rite place but he cant go around starting his own religion. The only way to salivation is through Jesus. you have to pray and let Jesus into your life so he can take away your sins. Like when I get dirty thoughts about Ffc2 I just pray to Jesus to take the sin away. Pray the gay away. Thats what your suppost to do. The original post is the text from a PRO-JESUS RAP song. Which explains why it's so disjointed and makes only tangential sense. So Ffc2, you need to capitalize all the "he" references. That would have helped.

You have a point about Jars of Clay, but I heard "Flood" FAR too many times to ever give the rest of that CD a chance. My Christ-enthused students would play it every chance they got as if to attempt to justify one good group on God's side versus thousands who are, apparently, apostates.

"Flood" is just a repetitive mess of a song once you analyze it, but good for them for trying to infuse a bit of grunge/alternative angst into worship. Any attempt at progression beats what's usually heard from that segment of the market.

And J.S. Bach, too. And probably a whole lot of other classical music...

Well, yeah, early music and Baroque/Classical/Romantic composers were more inspired by God than any modern composer. That goes without saying in my book. I'd trade all the Christian recording labels and radio stations for one CD that included any of these: Mozart's Requiem, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Berlioz' L'Enfance du Christ, Handel's Messiah, Franz Biebl's Ave Maria, or any number of sacred choral/instrumental works.

Even classic spirituals like Jester Hairston's "Soon-ah Will Be Done" or Jack Halloran's "Witness" are more inspiring and uplifting than modern Christian pop/gospel.

Of Olivier Messiaen's too-sparse choral works, I'd go with O Sacrum Convivium which sounds 20th Century without being relentlessly obscure, deliberately dissonant or in any way anything but soul-grabbing and lovely.
