Kuwait has finally given women the right to vote and hold public office. It's late, but better late than never. Who's to thank for pushing Kuwait foreward on this issue? Was it the UN, that global guardian of human rights? No. It was the "evil" USA.

I wouldn't believe that before i'm seeing it. To be honest, i was a little scared that Bush's 'domino effect' will escalate into a nuclear war that will devour the Middle East, so i'm happy about every little ease in the situation. And yeah, female's right to vote in Kuwait is a good thing. It's about time something changes in that forsaken region for good. :)
Random fact: I reckon that in Liechtenstein - arguably the most hopelessly screwed country in Europe, women didn't have the right to vote until 1984! :D

Oh, goodie. Soon enough they'll be no different whatsoever from the West, and maybe even worthy of our tourists.

Maybe. Then they will have an industry to fall back on when the oil runs out.

:p If they use the money to create luxury resorts then they'll have no problem attracting tourists, like Dubai
