Ffc, I didn't think you could bring yourself to watching primetime television, with the destruction it is bringing upon our culture.

I haven't seen it, though. Hopefully some hot woman wins it.

Bo Bice will win.

It's nice to see a long haired rocker guy make it this far. Gives me a little bit of hope for the future of American music.

what?! theres a rocker on american idol?! is he genuine, or does he seem like someone the producers tossed in for balance?

i tend to avoid that show like a plague, with all the other "reality" tv shows, but i might check this guy out if he is halfway decent. im getting desprate for some non-emo rock these days.

Nope ... he's genuine. A long haired, unshaven Alabama boy ... well, not boy ... he's 29. There was another rocker type, Constantine, who made it all the way to the top 5 as well.

It's the only reason I'm watching this season. Bo is amazingly talented and I've been hoping he'd win since the auditions were over. (They didn't show his audition until a couple of weeks ago)

That's the guy. Watch the video for his rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me". Phenominal.

My definition of a rock star will never include someone who got their break from American Idol.

I have a feeling this guy will be a joke by the time he releases his fourth cover of a very well know 1970s song. That or he will become a country singer.

He would still be better than Clay Aiken or any of the other novelty acts they have put out so far.

EDIT: In the interview he said that his friends would be surprised that he owns a Metallica album.

Meh ... a break's a break. I wouldn't care where it came from. It's the new Star Search. A lot of very talented people got their break from Star Search or, previously, the Mickey Mouse Club.

American Idol is no different, really.

I have not been watching every episode of Idol but I have caught a few of Bo's performances and...he is a real dude...he is definately a rocker but he has the potential to do whatever he wants musically..i think he has a little soul....He is a natural performer..i think he will be very successful...it is obvious he will win because they usually don't pick the same sex back-to-back...and i don't know old girl's name but the chick that is left is really not much of a performer although she has a decent voice...vonzell was a better performer than her...hey..i know someone saw next top model... Naomi won!! : )

so long as he joins a good band, he could be good. hes got a damn fine voice, if he gets the right guys to back him up, who knows?

I never watch the show or any other so-called 'reality' shows. They're a great way to waste my time. I prefer the Discovery Channel, but then even they are going that way too!!!

He does have a fantastic voice, but there is no way he could join a band, American Idol won't let him. They will set up a bunch of studio musicians behind him and give the band some really bland name like Alter Bridge and give him some really bland songs to sing.

Seeing as his friends would not expect him to own a Metallica album and his favorite band is Matchbox 20, I wouldn't expect his songwriting to venture far from the mainstream.

But it doesn't matter to me, anyways, I couldn't name or hum any of the songs former American Idol contestants have released. So good luck to him.
