Were the Separatists all that bad?

This is concerning the Separatists from Episode II: AOTC. Remember, Ep III premieres tomorrow!

If you remember my thread about my questioning of the Galactic Republic's necessity, this is an in-depth look at my 'Separatists not that bad' issue

*Going back to how I mentioned that planetary sovereignty would be an improvement over the bureaucracy of a Galactic government, I feel as if this was was the true reason for the Separatists' secession.

*The Clone Wars: you all may think that it was the Separatists who started the war - DEAD WRONG in my humble opinion. The war erupted from the Republic's rescue attempt of Senator Amidala, Anakin and Obi-Wan on Geonosis. Well, who was tresspassing on Geonosis? Last I checked, it was the REPUBLIC and the JEDI, intruding on GEONOSIS'S SOVEREIGNTY!

*The Separatists' Army: Do not fault the Separatists for raising an army to protect their sovereignty. The fact is that, if you secede, you're gonna need an army to protect yourself as that new sovereign nation!

the entire war is the fault of the man who ordered the clones in episode II (i'm completely blanking on the name right now due to lack of sleep)

Had he not ordered the clones, there would have never been a battle at the end of II, and it can be assumed that the events of II determine III, which then determine anakin going to the dark side, the rise of the empire, and the subsequent 3 movies.

*sigh*...I'm such a loser :)

I've read that all the wars in SW I and II were planned by Palpatine to help him rise to power. As such there aren't necessarily good and bad sides.

I agree that the separatists should have been left alone, though I am for the creation of the clones. The clones shouldnt have been used in an anti-seperatist capacity though, instead being delegated to protecting the remaining republican nations. Any government that has to use force to hold in its people, is bound to eventually fail.

Ohh, and I have a question. Are the stormtroopers in episodes 4-6(the original 3) clones? If not, why did they stop using clones?

The Separatists were led by Darth Sidious though, so that would make them evil.

I base this on George Lucas not changing the stormtrooper voices in the OT DVDs (unlike with Boba Fett), but also adding a sound effect to that stormtrooper who smacks his head on that door (a defect inherited from Jango Fett).
