School food... again. I don't actually know what is being served until I walk in. But most likely, I'll end up eating a salad. Partially because I'm vegetarian, and partially because mass-produced food is pretty gross, but they can't mess up lettuce too much.

Um, I just had a Muller Probiotic drink in strawberry. I er...couldn't be bothered to make dinner. Seeing I just had a yogurt for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch (BBQ chicken with salad) with a cappuccino slice for desert, methinks my diet's not too helathy. (hooray for free work food and drink)

I'm hungry now too. Wife advised breaded chicken cutlets, creamed spinach and rice for dinner. Sounds great to me.

Beef Roast w/ carrots and onions, brussel sprouts, Au'gratin(sp?) potatoes.
Most people don't like brussel sprouts. I love them :)

We get a spicy mustard at Sam's Club called Brat Mustard. It will light you up. I usually do a side of kraut and broasted potatoes with corned beef and blob mustard all over everything.

I don't know about where you live, but they sell corned beef briskets and rounds in all the stores around here. It makes a good easy meal to cook while I'm at work.

Willing to share your swedish meatball recipe?
Willing? Yes. Able? Dunno. Never gave it much thought. It was passed down from my father and I tweaked it a bit.
First, you need about two-three pounds of meatballs. Whatever recipe you like. But go easy on the breadcrumbs/bread if you use it. You want firm meatballs. Even frozen meatballs will do.
Brown them. They don't have to be fully cooked, but they should be close, and well browned on the outside. I microwave mine until they stop making juice. Then put them in the slow cooker along with some chopped onion. I use one small onion, well diced because I am not a big onion fan. If you like onion, chop a good-sized onon or two coarsely. Put in two small cans of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup(I use the low sodium version. Not for health concerns. I just like it less salty.) And two cans of water.
Now the spices: 1/4 cup of Worcestershire Sauce. 2 tablespoons coarse ground black pepper. 2 teaspoons paprika. 1 teaspoon allspice. Garlic(whatever amount and form tickles your fancy. I chop about three cloves). ANd my secret ingredient: Cinnamon. 1 teaspoon. Don't underestimate the versatility of cinnamon.
Then you just give it a big ol' stir, and let it bubble all freakin' day. Great when served over rice or egg noodles. :)

You've got me. What the hell is a Pescado Frito?
I assume you don't know spanish? Pescado=fish and frito=fried so Pescado Frito=fried fish (In spanish adjectives come AFTER nouns)
Por exemplo(for example):patatas fritas (fritas instead of frito because the noun is plural and feminine)= fried potatos= FRENCE FRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!
Sorry, that was ultra off topic. But at least you all know a little more about spanish
We are eating Mabodofu. Mabodofu and rice. Damn good stuff!!! It is tofu in a meatsauce, a bit spicy. This is put on top of a healthy portion of Japanese rice. That annoying sticky kind.
I just ate some burritos. :)
I had a burger about fifteen minutes ago. Heinz ketchup = goodness.

Korma: imagine an indian curry made primarily of cream and yoghurt, with coconut and no spices whatsoever, unless you get a mirchi (spelled incorrectly) korma, which looks identical but his tiny chili peppers mixed in with it *and is absolutely hilarious because people don't expect any spice never mind the hottest thing in the world*
poppadom: a big giant crisp (or potato chip, if you insist) which you dip into your curry.

I bought some ketchup when I went to the store too. My roommates have some stupid no name ketchup and I simply can't have that on my fries. I tried that crap, I'm more than willing to pay an extra 50 cents for Heinz. It's just so much better when you can't taste the vinegar.

Heinz --- One of the many great things to come out of Pittsburgh :D.
And on that note, I simply will not tolerate any other store-bought ketchup. It all tastes like shit compared to Heinz!

A few hours earlier...
Some kind of minced beef 'n' sauce with pasta thang, split three ways. My cooking tends to be of the 'throw stuff in the pan and see what happens after half an hour' variety. This went pretty well.
big chunk of mincemeat
tin of chopped tomatoes
yellow & red peppers
courgette
a couple of onions
splash of soy sauce (no Worcs, more's the pity)
lots of freshly ground black pepper
dash of paprika
oregano
a wee blob of Dijon mustard
Tabasco sauce
Washed down with a San Lorenzo Reserva Rioja (1999)
This is pretty mild by my standards, but the housemates like their food to be gentle...

Meatloaf can be really juicy just by laying a few strips of bacon on top of it before putting it in the oven. At least that's what I usually do, and mine's never dry.
