Yes, that's right. My son, Hannibal, is three years old today. Woo!

We've had cake and ice cream and sang a bunch of songs and now he's passed out asleep on the couch.

Ahhh ... good times.

Happy Birthday Hannibal.

Would that be; Hannibal the Cannibal, Hannibal - The Conqueror of Rome, or Hannibal-Because-I-Felt-Like-Calling-Him-That?

Happy Birthday Hannibal.

What a strange name! It always makes me think of a dog I didn't own. ;) no offense intended

You need to cut his hair. Do you want to turn him gay? That's what happens to little boys with long hair.

I can tell by the spots on his shirt that he is already taking after his father.

Hey ... rib me, but leave my son out of it.

Incidently, tradition dictates he doesn't get his first haircut until after he turns three. I had long, very long hair, until three. I have very long hair now. I ain't gay. My brother, with short hair, is gay.

So there.

I didn't buy him anything. I gave him life. :p

We waited till each of my sons were a year old. They were both born with a full head of hair so it was long at a year. Then my son, grandpa and I all go went to grandpa's Italian barber and all get a hair cut together. Thats was our tradition. I hope my kids do it when they have kids too.

Have you made him swear in a ceremony to never be a friend to Rome? It's the gift that every three year old dreams of. Not that making him swear it will be necessary, anyway, by the looks of things.

Congrats to the birthday boy!

But would you name him Publius Cornelius Scipio, or just Scipio... Ordination? Since Ordination is obviously your real last name as well.

I was considering Maximus for my first son, but my wife vetoed the idea. We named him after me instead.

My last name is Shmipio.

My cousin was intent on naming his kid Sampson, it was a girl, however.

Maybe that was good. I figured most people would call my son "Maxx". I guess they would call Sampson "Sam".

Yeah, I thought Sampson was a pretty bad choice, but at least he could go by Sam to acquiantances.

We had contemplated many names based on historical figures we admired. It came down to a coin toss between naming him Saladin or Hannibal. Hannibal won.

Even if it's a girl? Original name for a girl, to be sure...

But like I said some other time, Keru', both are top choices for a name.

Besides, that was the first Hannibal. We all know that this one is going to do just that.

I think I see the glimmer of world conquest in his eye...

or maybe he just had a bit too much ice cream.

Oh well, Happy birthday Hannibal (awesome name)

Had I been a girl, I would have been Gloria. Now, I have no problem with that name itself, however, my parents reasoning was that I was concieved during a power failure due to Hurricane Gloria. I blame that for my love of senseless destruction
