If any of you are fans of GENE RODDENBERRY’S ANDROMEDA you might be interested in knowing that Robert Hewett Wolfe, the original show runner/ ideal man/ turner of concept into actuality, was forced from the show some three years ago, and the helm given to Engles. Many felt that Andromeda was no longer Andromeda from this point on. The fan base dropped dramatically so I guess the people spoke.

However the show managed to hold on for the five years/. 100 eps needed to make a syndication package.

Robert promised the 'faithful' that when the show ended he would tell us all the story, what HAD been planed, not the disaster that was. ( my words not his - Mr. Wolfe is a true gentleman and has never said a disparaging word against Tribune, Engles or any other associated with the show )

But let any rejoice who have been waiting for that story. Robert has written it - 20 pages worth - and on June 1 will post it at his website :

Robert Hewitt Wolfe (http://www.rhwolfe.com/)

The question and answer that he will do will be at :

Ex Isle (http://www.exisle.net/mb/index.php/)

Ex Isle is the successor to SlipStream, one of the top Andromeda fan boards, and several Andromeda professionals post there regularly. ( Along with many other professionals in the industry )

Fare ye well Andromeda, and a tear for what may have been.

Whenever you read anything about the story of Andromeda on the internet or on paper, it seems very, very interesting. Then you actually watch it on screen, and it's a massive dissapointment. It's too bad. I'm sure it's not what Gene Roddenberry actually had in mind.

This MIGHT clarify a bit of my confusion.

See, Lexa Doig is ****ING HOT. Not just hot. She is a GODDESS like Jennifer Connelly. How she ended up on such a lame show (I blame Sorbo's bad acting and bad writing in general) is beyond my comprehension.

Most of us who loved the show felt that it was not longer GR's Andromeda after Robert left. The first two seasons were what Gene had envisioned, Robert was faithful to his notes and ideas, but Engles? OMG, what an cluster F***!

And yeah I do think that Sorbo had a hand in turning it into the Hercules in Space / Sorbo action hour...

However Robert has promised us the what should have been, and some closure to the glaring diappointements of the last three seasons.

Really? I'm the total opposite. I started watching like a few years ago, and it was cool. Then I looked at the backstory, and the coolness decreased quite significantly. The backstory is nearly total crap, and that's being generous.

As a show, it's kickass though.

I stoped watching when Tyr daied in the most royally stupid way possible. Supporting anti-heros die best when they die heroicly.
It aso helps when are brought back to life next season for no apparent reason.
