Anyone ever played simcountry on the web?

http://www.simcountry.com/

I tried playing it when i got bored of nationstates a while back. It is so hard and confusing that i just gave up.

To play the game, you are recommended to read the help guide. Its about 100 pages in my estimate. It features so much complicated things, the economics of the game and the way it works baffles me, and i study at the London School of Economics (LSE) where i do a course in economics.

NationStates has drawn me back in and i'm addicted again in case your wondering

Yeah, I stopped for the same reasons as you. It's got tons of what I think may be realism, but is far too complicated for me to want to get into and find out. That's the problem with realism in games.

Generally i like realism in games but i think this one went way too far. I liked the whole world thing, limited number of nations, set place on a map and some of the customisable features. It was just so needlessly complicated and did not really support relations between nations as far as i could tell. Making relationships with people being an important aspect of most online games

Yeah, they made a game and said, "Here's the most complicated thing ever made. We actually made it so complicated it is almost unplayable. It is the Grad Turismo of massive-multiplayer online nation building."

Absolutely. Apparently there is a whole community of people who love it and will freely get into heated debates about the economics and financing involved.
Enough to make me want to do this :headbang: :headbang:
