Armed Forces Day and NS on 5/21

I was trying to get this out to a bunch of delegates and founders (whoever was last active) but obviously that is a *very* hard thing to do. So I'll post it here, as well - in hopes that some of you will take this to your region's delegate or founder. :)

BTW, this is for ALL soldiers, not just the U.S. ones. My view is that even if you don't support the mission, at least support them. If no one volunteered then a lot of us would be facing conscription. Meh.

Greetings my fellow NSer,

Despite our possible differences with our own agendas for NationStates, I would like to extend this RL information to you and your region.

If you were not previously aware of it, Armed Forces Day is on Saturday, 5/21 (U.S. time).

Vigils are being held all over the nation for our soldiers; any and all of them. I'd like to extend this vigil through NS with a little note in the WFE that says something of the following:

CHOICE A
Both men and women have fallen who serve in militaries around the world. Each death is significant, each casualty is one too many. The trauma of warfare doesn't seclude itself to the individual but to many others as well. Please feel free to keep all of the soldiers in your prayers, minds, hearts, and/or thoughts as this day passes - and to voice these if you'd like to share.
Armed Forces Day, 2005.

CHOICE B
Using our own methods, we wish all of the brave and honorable soldiers the best of luck; wishing for their continuance of life, health, lack of pain, and sanity throughout the days. As well as for the ones they hold dear and vice versa.
Armed Forces Day, 2005.

Or even just a "Happy Armed Forces Day; 2005!"

If you're interested in being part of this, please just post something like that in your WFE, preferably in blue, on Saturday, 5/21 or Friday, 5/20 (depending which time zone you fall into). You can take it off whenever you feel like it.

This is a small show of support that doesn't take much effort at all. It doesn't matter whether or not you're a U.S. citizen - this includes all serving troops. They have to live with some pretty discouraging conditions (I know I appreciate being able to shower every day and not wondering if I might die in another country away from family and friends) and as you know, everyone needs some support now and again.

Any questions about this? Don't hesitate to telegram me. I'd also appreciate it if you could drop me back a note if you decide to do it. :p

Regards,
-Boo
