I adore this game, and would be glad to pwn anyone else who plays it.

Pfft..I've played all 3 of those games and SOCOM II is by far the best of the bunch. To this day there is truely no other game like it, and every time I log on to play online there are always at least 20,000 people playing. Not everyone thinks HALO is the end-all-be-all of video games.
I think SOCOM III is going to set the new standard for online shooting games, because from what I read it look like this game is going to bury all others.

I'll sic my little brother on you. I suck out loud at shooters because I just can't get into them, but my brother-he's a mad man. I don't know that he's still playing that though, I think he may have moved on to bigger and better things.
I don't remember his screen name, though I think it's mildly offensive. If you get shot in the head by someone with a mildly offensive name thats him.

SOCOM 3 is going to blow SOCOM 2 out of the water. I cannot wait for August 15th after seeing the new videos.

I played SOCOM online till my ps2 modem thingy packed up, it was really cool but there just wasn't many levels or weapons.

I played SOCOM online till my ps2 modem thingy packed up, it was really cool but there just wasn't many levels or weapons.
For SOCOM 3 there will be 12 levels (with the new graphics engine the levels will be 5 or 6 times the size of the ones in SOCOM 2), 7 of which will include vehicles (T72 tank, Humvee, trucks, boats, helicopters, etc.), 31 weapons with 21 custom attachments. Not sure if all this this will be included in online play, but I don't see why they wouldn't.
They better sort out all the *seriously* niggling bugs in SOCOM-II.
I'm sick to the back teeth of:
* dodgy clipping [scope sees through wall thanks to dodgy programming - many's a perfect shot been spoiled that way]
* "team mates" standing in the way getting us all killed.
* being told where to go - I'll pick my own route damnit
* being limited to sending team mates to preset waypoints instead of dynamic selection
* that ridiculous AI - shoot a guy in the head, the guy next to him stands there like a turnip, then runs about manically.
Anyone else got any pet hates with the game?
