Truth. Do you seek? Do you know?

The fact that you do not use "words as arms" does not mean that some other person perceives it the same way.

I think that there are four kinds of persons:
* those who seek but don't think they know.
* those who seek but think they know.
* those who don't seek but don't think they know.
* those who don't seek but think they know.

I admit that I'm the second type. I've made a pool just out of curiosity.

Your definition of "truth" is not important. It's a question about your subjective feelings. It's annonymous so don't be shy.

thats me but - i seek, but i don't think i'll ever know "the truth". i feel its arrogant for someone to think they know what it is (depending on what 'the truth' is of course)

Alright, I'm quoted! :p

Maybe an extra option: those who think to know that there is no truth. I would've chosen that.

I sometimes seek if i can be bothered, then i profess to know everything but only have a very narrow picture of the truth due to my lazy research.

Actually, there are three kinds of people. Those who understand maths and those who don't.

The categories are too limited.

I fall into another category called: "Those who seek, and know they know a little."

Actually, there are three kinds of people. Those who understand maths and those who don't.

Or the 10 kinds of people; those who understand binary and those who don't.

Hehe...

I don't think there is a universal truth. If there was, we'd be able to get everyone to agree on it. I seek, I do not know, and I have doubts that anyone will ever be able to truly know.

ABOUT EXISTANCE OF THE TRUTH.

Ok... Look at all religions, morals, ethics, etc. Do they all have something in common? What all ideologies want to achive? Salvation/Utopia/Enlightement/etc - Goodness & Harmony (yes, even anarchists seek it!). I belive that there is one aim (God - but names varies) - even statist communists (sic!) wanted freedom, peace, justice, etc... For me the Truth is out there. It's not stupid - only ignorant can say that someones opinion is stupid when he doesn't understand it.
The categories are too limited.
That's the problem with categories I think...

not all people believe that. some believe that nothing exists at all. there, that's the truth. it's an illusion. you're all seeing goats.

I seek and think that I have found something, but there is still much to find. If I looked for the truth my whole life, I still doubt I would find it. There is too much to look for

So you're saying, universally, that there is no universal truth?

Neat!

So it's a universal truth that, subjectively, there is no universal truth?

The "truth" is, there are at least 7 kinds of persons. Minimum.

So then there is a subjectively universal truth?

But you said there was no universal truth.

So how can it be a universal truth that there is no universal truth.

This would mean that there has to be a universal truth.

But by its subjective nature, the universal truth cannot exist.

Nope...its my subjective opinion that it doesnt exist....i admit by that only that for some it might exist...in their own subjective ways :D

Yes, I do seek to know the truth. Some things I know I know are the truth, some hint to it, others might suggest differently - but yes, I do think I know a truth, if not the truth. But I'm still seeking for a "more complete" truth.

The truth is out there. Trust no one.

I admire those who seek the truth, but fear those who think they found it.
While I'd like to take credit for that, I read it somewhere. Can't remember where, but I like it. It sums up my feelings on the subject nicely.

Yeah, I think it's possible only when you unite with God. So for some of you: impossible indeed. My problem is that I'm aware that I don't know the the truth but I notice that I'm acting like I already know everything. It's sad and I don't like it but I'm doing my best ;)
That's why I checked the second option.
