So... what's so great about the environment

Seriously (not really). What's so great about it? Why should I care if I litter and why should I like the rainforest? The rainforest has been constantly been cut down, think of the amount of oxygen lost, yet we're still alive. In fact, there's more of us. So why should I like the rainforest or waterfalls? Furthermore, why should I have to save them?

Well the environment is the environment.

We just have to decide which kind of environment we'd like to have. Do we want lush meadows ripe for picnicing, green old growth forests teaming with life and discover, or sprawling wastelands?

Why should you care? Sorry ... I can't help you there. You either do or you don't. *shrug*

Its kinda cause we live in the environment. Even dogs don't shit where they sleep.

Not only a case of us living in the environment, we are also part of it.

As Alex Harvey put it: So remember this, boys and girls, when freedom comes along, don't pisch in the water supply.

Pigs do, and they're smarter than dogs. Although I think that by this logic, god will kill humanity and harvest us for bacon.

Do they? I know that they don't have sweat glands and so commonly use mud or water to cool themselves off, but they will go for clean water over brackish supplies or mud given the chance. I doubt that they do actually sleep in theri own shite.

And where will these lush meadows be the with the ever-expanding human race? Surely crowding people into small urbanized areas in order to preserve a few green plants can't be good. And just to let you know: phytoplankton produce most of the earth's atomospheric oxygen through photosynthesis and they're in the open-sea. So I don't think we need to really worry that much about losing our air since the open-sea is so evil that no one goes there except tuna fishers who give us quality dolphin to munch on.

Not goths. They want to die.

We can change the environment. That's what cutting down trees is for. :D

People choose to live like that. We're a social species. We tend to congregate. Haven't you ever noticed just how many people show up for a crowd?

Oh I'm not worried. We can do no more harm to the overall environment than jellyfish can. I require my dolphin to be tuna-safe, thanks.

You asked why you should care. All I can say is I don't know. I care, but that's because I like to sit on a clean toilet, so I wash it now and then. Everyone should be responsible for their own environment.

I'm sure you know that overcrowding will actually lead to worse environmental conditions in that one clustered area. Though I do admit one thing that kicks ass about forests: you can take a piss and shit in them without anyone caring. :p A bit odd, yes, but then again, I'm also advocating the burning down of the rainforest.

And we need dolphin in our tuna. I'll quote Marge Simpson on this one: "I brought you a tuna sandwich. They say it's brain food. I guess because there's so much dolphin in it, and you know how smart they are."

No no ... I said I require my dolphin to be tuna-safe.

We need to protect those poor dumb tuna.

We should nuke the tuna, rather. Would be a great way to deplete our nuclear warhead supply, and Im sure you wouldn't mind that!

Some people would rather live in places that are either in or close to "nature." The definition of nature is of course not one-sided, but I for one would not want to live on a world without new interesting places to discover.

There aren't too many places to discover, except the regions of the deep-sea which don't conflict with the stuff on the surface. Rainforests are in the way. Sure, we can keep them, but if we need to destroy 'em we should be able to. There are plenty of cures in the rainforest, but there are also probably just as many diseases.

So, since you're interested in new places, try the deep-sea, there's lots of weird shit down there and people really shouldn't be worried about the end of the forests and whatnot... you guys balance the equation. We have me, who wants to burn it, and you who doesn't. In the end, not much gets accomplished but usually trees get chopped down which means I partially win despite not contributing at all to the chopping of the actual trees.

I vote for sprawling wastelands with lots of weapons and hopped up cars running on methane. Mad Max all the way, baybeeeeeeeeee! :p
