so im standing out in my front yard and i see something coming from the side of the road. its a little bunny, basically a newborn. it couldnt have been more than 3 inches long. it was so small i could barely see it over the blades of grass. i had flashbacks to the book "watership down" lol (good book to all the havnt read it). do you all ever see animals around your homes?

Just squirrels, possums and the occassional rabbit. Turtles use to roam into our yard, from a pond in the cow pasture behind my house... but haven't seen sight of one in years.

Dogs, cats, soccer fans.

More seriously we get bats, and a wide range of birds, some lizards, the occasional snake, but no land living mammals other than the domesticated variety.

On the roads is another matter. We have had to brake or swerve to avoid a low flying pig, a deer, a jaguaritica (mid sized wild cat, very rare), monkeys, and even a large fish once. (True. I swear it). But we do tend to pick the back roads, as it makes the journey more fun.

Squirrls, deer, rabbits, snakes, frogs, etc, all the stuff. I live in the woods, so there's no shortage of animals hangin around, esp since my family feeds them all...

we have a wooden fence running right next to our conservatory here, with a bit of open land/few big trees next door (its a 6th form college) so we see squirrels running past all the time. plenty of birds too. our cat used to chase em but now he's too fat, old & lazy:)

so yeah

Where I live right now mostly rats, but where I grew up foxes, badgers, pheasents, hedgehogs, rabbits, voles, mice, frogs and newts spring immediately to mind.

I live in the CBD so there are not many animals, but I do see on a regular basis the following: A pair of Kookaburras; a family of (5) Fairy Wrens (or was it a family of princess wrens?); Mulberry birds; Willy wag tails; (3) Moniter lizards; magpies; (3) top notches; possums; Currawongs; and crows. There are some other birds that I cannot identify too, but I can't identify them.

There was also an eagle of a falcon or some sort of bird of prey that has been bought into the city to keep down pidgeon numbers that I sometimes see, but never from the back yard.

[edit]and fruit bats! How could I forget that we have the largest bat colony in the southern hemisphere?

Who would win in a fight: a wily urban fox or a GMSR?

I've only seen a few birds around my current house, but I have seen quite a bit when I was more on the edge of town. Moose, squirrels, fox, a muskrat, and rabbits cover most of it.

No contest. Any other animals you see in London are actually GMSRs in fancy dress. They're toying with us...

Although I live in San Diego, in an urban area, my house abuts a canyon that is a nature perserve and I have a decent size backyard with lots of fruit trees.

Not counting a wide range of reptiles, I've seen in my yard:

Coyotes
Deer
Raccoons
Skunks
Rabbits
Squirrels
a Bobcat
Many different birds including hummingbirds, a golden eagle, and owls
Panda (kidding)

that is all I can think of at the moment.
