Troon's Political Party

This is my political party! Anyone who wants to join, please post here. This should be the thread for the party to form our manifesto. However, the party should have the following ideas:

Flat tax rates for all (exceptions for the mega-poor, roughly £5,000 a year)
A small, government funded health service. Acute cases only; people would pay for everything other than treatment of life-threatening situations
A smaller government, with less bureaucracy
A ban of smoking (ideally, in all public places, but we'll see...)
Free basic education for all, with the following exception: those pupils who misbehave above age 8 are given "3 strikes and they're out". If they behave badly and cause serious problems 3 times, they are removed from the system.

There's probably more that I can't think of right now. And these ideas are flexible.

Who wants to join?

[Edit: I'm not running in any RL country...see Ariddia's post below for details.]

BUMP.

I was afraid this would happen...

Perhaps I'm missing the point here... but what country are you running for government in? You'd probably get more response if people were aware of where you're standing...

We can't have that. I agree with banning smoking in workplaces, as was done here in Ireland last year, but people should be allowed to smoke on the street.

Change the education policy. Kicking troublesome kids out of education will only create an underclass of dole sponges, drug addicts and criminals.

Add these too:

environmental protection
legalised abortion
legalised drugs (yes, all of them)
full gay rights
public transport
no death penalty
free speech rights limited only by a "clear and present danger" clause
free trade; protectionism only when very necessary
a low, but fixed minimum wage
the right to time off at the weekends
the right to education: primary level, secondary level, and up to undergraduate third level
take in fair share of immigrants, but not too many

We have to do something with them though. Besides, hopefully the threat of being removed permanently from the school system will make the parents ensure the children behave.

Failing that, we'll have to have special schools or something. Actually, moving back to the 60s style of education strikes me as a really good idea...

Sure, add the rest in. This party is clearly dead, so we may as well have some fun too.

If the Troon Party implements these ideas count me in. Although I would be interested in seeing a subsidised education system with practical work experience programs at the highschool level.

Problem is this is the pretty much the same as both the Classical Liberals and the Libertarian.

No one needs three of the same.

I'm almost entirely sure I came up with my party first.

Bah.

Grr.

Okay, everyone may jump ship and head over to one of those other two "popular" parties. I'm going to sit here and plot revenge.
