It's my 18th birthday tomorrow...

...and it's going to be spent studying like crazy for my English final on Friday. I won't have a chance to exploit my newfound legal alcoholic purchasing power until at least Friday night. Also, I kinda asked for the money my parents were going to give me a month early, for a trip to London.
So... My 18th birthday is going to comprise of a hideously cringeworthy family meal in an Italian restraunt. Add to that the fact that my 16 year old sister is adament about bringing her boyfriend along (who I fancy like mad :(), and I think it's going to be pretty crappy.
Pity me.
Dude, that sounds really crappy. Best of luck on the whole London trip...

I've actually already been, last month. It was great, I was meeting from friends from America.

In a strange way, I feel your pain. I go for my driving test AGAIN tomorrow. If I pass it, I'm not going to be able to have more than a muted celebration because I have to work the next day, but I may do something like treat myself to something nice if I'm able to celebrate passing the driver's examination.
But trust me, once the work day is over on Friday, it would be party time. Unless my father decides to reward me by letting me drive the car to the bar. Then I'll still have to mute the celebration.
One of these days, you'll probably appreciate getting the chance to have dinner with your mum and dad. Those days are more limited than you think.

Best of luck on the finals ("tally-ho", and all that). And a happy birthday, at that. Although I don't know you. But you're on the forum, and as such an eligible for this, my boredom-post. Sorry about that, but still I sincerely wish you a happy birthday.

Meh, that sucks, but I've had worse.
But I guess you always feel like you should be happy on your birthday, and when you're not you feel worse.
Hope you have a great weekend (party AFTER the final!)

Pity me.Luckily, I didn't have the sister-boyfriend aspect, but my 18th was really cringe-worthy too. My mother invited the whole extended family to our house - against my expressed wishes - and then had the nerve to ask me to help her make a 'buffet' for them! Then I was paraded like an exhibit in a court room in front of all these people, while their bloody cameras kept taking what were undoubtedly hideous pictures of me.
I hope it doesn't go as badly as that for you, but if it does, hold out for your 21st! Possibly more money with a job - or if not, more potential to scrounge :p Happy birthday whatever happens :)
PS. Sarzonia - I feel your pain too...bloody driving tests are doing my head in as well.

Yeah, they suck. I failed mine and couldn't retake because the waiting list was too long (I left home shortly afterwards). It's annoying, because I'm not even a bad driver. The whole not stopping for elderly couple on crossing was perfectly understandable and safe, I swear! It's not my fault they were shorter than the ford fiesta they popped out from behind! Or that a lorry was trying to reverse onto the car in front at the time. :p

Having an exam near your birthday sucks. I had a physics exam a day after my birthday and a chemistry and economics exam the day before my birthday back in January. I cursed AQA and OCR that day...

Happy B'day, hope it all goes fine, and good luck with the english.
Guy.
Right.
It took me 4 go's to pass, all 4 stupid reasons! It does suck failing when you only slipped up once. What sucked for me was my mates passed before me and their driving's just scary!
congrats! don't get too plastered! ;) ahhhhh... to be 18 again......
