Has anybody purchased any new albums recently? Are there any upcoming albums that you are looking forward to?

I got Gimme Fiction by Spoon yesterday and Guero by Beck a couple weeks ago. With the Decemberists, Beck, and Spoon already having released their albums, I have a feeling I won't need to buy any in the near future, but I also don't know of any that are coming out.

I've never actually bought an album, though I'll buy quite a few LP's when I get the money.

Hmm... I would like to hear the new Buzzcocks album, due later this year. I wonder what they sound like these days...!

I bought You're a Woman, I'm a Machine by Death From Above 1979 two weeks ago. It is pretty good. It's hard rock made by a drummer and a bassist.

I got myself about a week ago Metallitotuus by Teräsbetoni (a finnish hero-metal band).

That kind of metal music where they sing about war and glorious battles and so on...

I really like your taste in music. I have had that album downloaded on my computer for about two months now, and it is fantastic. Probably the best album name I have heard in a while, as well.

What is your favorite song on it? Black History Month is probably mine.

How is Guero? I was thinking of getting it.

It is very good. I got it thinking it would be just like Odelay. It is a little more mature, I guess, than Odelay. The songs are a little darker. If you liked Beck over the last 10 years, though, you will really like this album.

Last album i aquired was Radiohead - Amnesiac. Not sure if that counts as new - new to me or new to the world?
It's good anyway :)

I do like Guero. It isn't exactly like old Beck, but it is better than the last album he put out. I did not like Gimme Fiction. I have been a Spoon fan for years, and this was a let down. The Decemberists are awesome!

New Albums put out:
British Sea Power
VHS or Beta
LCD Soundsystem (it's ok)

That's actually called power metal.

I really like your taste in music. I have had that album downloaded on my computer for about two months now, and it is fantastic. Probably the best album name I have heard in a while, as well.

What is your favorite song on it? Black History Month is probably mine.
Same here, also Romantic Rights and Blood on Our Hands.

The last album I was given was a tape of David Bowie, damn good stuff. And the last three before that were:
1) My Chemical romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
2) Garbage- Bleed like Me
3) The Dresden Dolls- self- titled

And all excellent :)

That list is all legitimately bought CDs. I have about 600 copied albums, none of which are included on that list.

Well, the new Sham 69 album, which is worth it, even though the singing is lacking
The Melvins w/ Jello Biafra one, because I'm a whore for anything with Jello Biafra, great cd all around
The new Against All Authority split with Common Rider, because those are the two greatest bands of the 90's
I was unaware that the Buzzcocks are coming out with a new one, but I getting that one as soon as I see it

Gimme Fiction is definitely not as good as Kill the Moonlight, but I am happy with it anyways. Ironically, I got a bonus disk with mine, and the best song by far is a demo from the bonus disk.

LCD Soundsystem (it's ok)

I will probably check out Sea Power and M83's albums. The new Trail of Dead album is awful in my opinion. What is more is that Source Tags and Codes is probably my favorite album. When I heard the initial single from the new one I was disappointed, when I heard the rest of the album, I was flat out pissed off.

The last album I bought was Bloc Party - Silent Alarms (though it was back in February) It's a brilliant album and I would recommend it to anyone.

But the next few months should be good for new albums. I can't wait for the new offerings from bands like White Stripes, Oasis, Weezer while I can't wait for the debut albums from The Subways, Babyshambles and Maximo Park.

If you check out British Sea Power, go for The Decline of the British Sea Power. It is more energetic. If you don't like the new Trail of Dead, I don't know if you will like M83. You never know, though.

Are you a fan of Interpol? I could go on and on about them. Turn on the Bright Lights is the superior album, although both are good.

I just picked up Nine Inch Nails' "With Teeth"... not sure if I like it yet.

Also picked up Skinny Puppy's "The Greater Wrong of the Right" and Ministry's "Houses of the Mole" not too long ago. The subject matter is completely anathema to what I believe politically...but the music rocks. :)

me too. And I like it (krhm...I've listened it about 15 times before I actually bought it..)

I've been trying to buy Tuomari Nurmio & Alamaailman vasarat but it's constantly sold out. I could just go to a department store but I want to support my friend's own store.

Some label Teräsbetoni as warriormetal. Anyway it's hilarious manowar like metal.

Very true. I have never been there myself. I just saw Carbondale, and I remembered that my old roommate said how small it was for residents...

Anyhoo, I am off topic.
