I've got a female friend called Sid, always thought that was a bit strange. It's probably short for "Sydney".

I know people with names as weird as Tom, Frank, John, Kristina, Paul, and God help us, William, provided such names are uncommon in the place where you live.

(Where I live the most popular names are Xawbltoxq, Tgjaxkzeef, and Sqiqitxeb. ;))

My mom had a friend who wanted to name their child "Polly-Ester". Ester is a fairly common name in Sweden, and Polly is also a normal name altough not so common in Sweden, but when you put them together it sounds a bit funny :p

However, in Sweden the goverment doesn't allow certain names which could give the child trauma (such as calling your child Adolf Hitler and such), so she was't allowed to call her daughter that.

Am I the only one who thinks that that's the coolest name ever? Isen...

...and her loving husband, Per Saukko.

Those unfamiliar with Finnish. Anu is a female first name, Per is a male first name. Saukko is Finnish for an otter, aukko is Finnish for a hole. So,

Anu Saukko = Anus-aukko, "anal hole".
Per Saukko = Pers-aukko, "asshole".

Not really that funny when you have to explaine it, I admit.

I've also heard of a Miina Kenttä, or Mine Field.

Pinky
That's off the top of my head. When I'm not so tired I'll remember some others.

Of course, no name could possibly be weirder than:
Moon Unit Zappa,

Except maybe Zowie Bowie. But that's not really weird, just stupid. Like Prince Michael I & II.

I came across another one today - a girl whose Chinese names are Kin Ki. Say them together to see what the problem is, especially introducing herself.
"Hi, I'm Kin Ki!"

I know a chinese guy named man-ho. and i also know girls named amanda tease and mary ferry
About the Mary Ferry - if Jerry Hall hadn't broken up with Bryan Ferry to go with Mick Jagger, she could well be know as Mrs Jerry Ferry.
And if Carly Simon had (somehow) married Bob Marley, she would have been Mrs Carly Marley.

I don't personally know someone with a weird name, but I do know someone who has a friend in a gynocology department in a hospital. He says his friend has delivered a lot of babies with weird names such as these.

He told us about two twins:

Orangejello (pronounced Oran-jello)
Lemonjello (pronounced Le-mon-jello)

And I feel sorry for this one but whatever:

Shithead (pronounced She-THEED)

Unfortunately, i don't think anyone is going to pronounce his name that way :(
