Our Intel run school system has us research colleges we want to go to as Freshmen so we're ready to plan our high school career. So, I had to find 5 colleges I wanted to go to. Here they are:

Adelphi
West Texas A&M
Cornell
Penn State
American University in Cairo

So, have any comments? If you have question you'll have to wait a few hours for me to wake up and finish the accompaning assignment while everyone else sleeps.

I am two months away from finishing a diploma which I can use to skip most of the first year of a BA with similar subjects. I'm starting to think I don't want that, I just want a job washing dishes or something.

Why in the world would you want to go to A&M?

Those all look fine to me. How did you arrive at them? Did you research specific departments and degree programs? I guess my only problem is, its hard to know what you want to study your first year in college, much less your first year in high school. How interested are you at this point to any particular field or major? Still, planning is good.

lol! I could tell a few right now, but I'll refrain.

A&M is a great school if you wanna be a vet, or do agricultural work. I can't think of what else it's really good for. As for other univerities..:p There's UT, which is awesome....and bloody massive, imo.

Haha.

Yes, UT is fucking huge. Still, it's no University of Minnesota.

For some reason I don't think that type of class is that high in demand compared to others, because I'm currently enrolled in a college level statistics course and it's rather boring.

Anywho, of those 5 listed there, I'd choose Cairo. I'm not too certain on which is the best academically, but learning in a foreign country, and an Arab one at that, probably wouldn't look bad on a post-university resumé. I plan on going to the University of Athens at some time in my life, probably my masters.

UAF is nationally renouned for its computer science program, as well as being excellent in just about all of our science and engineering programs.

And I have taken 6 ;) well 8 when I got my masters in network modeling (technically a stats major)

They are in massively high demand ... at least the masters (specially in biostatistics) every pharmaceutical/health company out there are begging for them

I could also dislike the class because my teacher is an illiterate tard, that's just a guess though. ;)

Anyway, back on topic, go to Cairo.

If you have a general (or even specific) idea of what you want to do for a living after college, then pick a college that will best prepare you for that.

If you think being in Cairo would be a good experience, you can always go to Cairo during a summer break in school or as part of some internship during a school year. If a university in Cairo uniquely fits your career plan, then it should receive great consideration.

Getting a college education is a 4-5 year grind, depending on your major. don't pick a school just because it's a cool or fun place -- that will wear off during the grind, and transferring to another school when you're a senior is just about the last thing you want to do.

There is little in the college years that is quite as affirming as hard-earned academic success. Blow-off courses won't help you 5 years from now, and partying will only provide you with funny stories 10 years from now.

Pick a good, academically sound program at a school with a well-founded reputation in your intended acareer field, work hard, and have some fun for good metal health so you can stay the course throught the grind.

That was actually one of my choices, because it apparently has a good meteorology program. I chose University of Washington, though, because it's closer to home and also has a good meteorology program.

moving to the desert would have been psychologically tough on you. but we do have a cool lightning lab on top of one of the local mountains.

I'm not being sarcastic (really, I'm not), but what do you want to do using those degrees? You pretty much will have to either be a teacher or get a masters degree before those degree plans will get you hired anywhere with much of a career path.

Now, if you had said "sociology", I might have gone sarcastic.
