Anyone use their sig for anything else besides showing off or putting stuff on it?

Mine is like a bookmark for me. I just scroll down a thread, look for my red bold warning sign, and I read the posts below mine. It's really handy, especially since no one else has my style of sig.

I find it easier to scoll down and recognize my sig than my name. The layout on the names is all the same.

my sig was part show off, part way for other posters to figure what i am saying is usually a rude joke...... i desperatley have to change it though...after being gone two weeks, i came back, and HATE IT.

My sig is an insider joke. In fact, it's so insider it's inside out.

I too use mine as a flag when scrolling.

2. My compass

3. Careerist Self-promotion

4. A dissention from the frankly weird TInk-worshipping cult that exists on NS.

I use mine to spot my posts on a given thread (lets me know where I last left off in a discussion)

Oh, and I use the Hot Pink for my Political Compass standings to alert people.

Errm, what sigs? I've never seen any. Is there some sort of setting somewhere to change that? 'cos I've found that rather annoying with people referring to their sigs, and I have nothing to refer that to.

I think that's wasted on me and most of the other mods. I don't leave sigs turned on except to chase down sig length abusers (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=417417) (yes, it's now an eight-line limit, and we'd appreciate voluntary compliance). If you're trying to send us a message, a post in Moderation would be better.

The quotes are more or less random. With the exception of the Burroughs one, they are just something thought of at the time. The Burroughs one is important.
