If you dont agree with a country or a person or a food or whatever all these "what the hell is wrong with you" threads.....then fine. At least be original and come up with a title that isnt offensive. It makes people angry and starts the debate of in a defensive mode.


I dont agree with the US govt or most of what goes on from day to day......but I am an American and when I see a thread that's titled "What the hell is wrong with you Americans?" Then it pisses me off...........because there's nothing wrong with me...........well nothing you guys need to know about.

As the founder of such a thread, I apologise that your fellow americans stupidity made me laugh so hard that I started a thread about it.
But I, in the interest of fairness, also mocked out my own country and other countries as well. :)
Seriously though, I think that unfortunately many people that start those threads have a legitimate argument that is poorly expressed in the thread title.
However, I just mocked whoever I could for their stupidity, myself included.

My point exactly. I dont argue that we all have legitimate beef with other people/countries/politics.....whatever. I'm just saying it comes off as an attack on ALL Americans/Canadians/Brits/Mexicans.............whoever the title is addressing. I just thing it could be titled a little better.

Understand-those threads are designed to piss you off. Dont let them bother you-take them from where they come. Just picture the self loathing twits that are spouting the trash. Their animosity toward all things Amercian is born of their own shortcomings. We have nice things and a nice way of life, for the most part, so we must be responsible for why they are so miserable.

Pehaps we should make a header colour for sarcastatic/humourous threads, as while I posted a What the hell is wrong with americans thread, it was a mocking of stupid laws, not an attack against america.

I agree with all the above statements,

I dont mind a ding-dong with anyone to do with countrry politics, but ONLY in a light-hearted banter sort of way. Nor do I mind having a pop at my own country, Iam big enough to know my country isnt perfect nor are the poeple that live in it, along with other people in their own respective countries know THEIR country isnt flawless. Sniping is good, but only if its all light-hearted, not meant in a serious way :sniper: .

Minute things get heavy, Iam out of there.

There's a whole lot of truth in the 'people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones' or 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' kind of attitude. Truth be told though there ARE a lot of things wrong with the world and, as the only superpower out there, you Americans are an easy scapegoat. People feel angry and it's a whole lot more easy to take it out on the obvious other than to try and figure out what the problem is.

To me it seems like the problem is in all of us, in the games we play, the drugs we take, the systems by which we live our lives. Social organisation has taken most of us away from the physical stimulation of a life fighting for survival and while it has given us many things, it has replaced the daily problem of survival with problems of happiness, inequality and global warming. I'm not saying we should go back to the stone age, just that perhaps flaming is a natural response to societal pressure to limit our natural aggression.

I'm sick of hearing about how Irish people are all drunks. :rolleyes:
