I noticed...

Suicidal Librarians

I've noticed since I came back on NS that there is a new generation of general forum posters. All of the people who posted a lot (well, most of them) aren't really around anymore. It's weird............

I noticed the same thing. There's a lot of turnover on these forums, and as an accelerating factor it seems that the more people from our time who leave the less inclined we are to post.

Some names start to seem familiar until I take a couple-month-long lull and then none of the big posters are the same.

I guess by now I'm a pretty old poster...I've been here for a while. And I don't think I'll be here much longer...the forums seem to be getting repetitive. Same old arguements, same old everything. It's not new anymore, not like it used to be. Sure it is to the new folks, that's what keeps 'em coming in, but it starts to kinda bore the oldies.

You see, that's how I suspect it works. The forums have a life cycle, think about all the really old names, that all but a few remember. Names like Marathon and the like. I'd assume the same happened to them as well. It just was no longer new.

I mean, how many times have I seen a thread titled "Jesus was a communist?" I have seen many times, more times than I can count. Or, for that matter, anything involving communism, or affirmative action, or the war in the middle east, or, god, the list goes on and on and on.

Same here. Except, in my case, I'm mostly steering clear of the forums... me and a group of friends are using the game as a fantasy/Steampunk setting for private RP, so at the moment, we're pretty much steering clear of the UN RP aspect of things.

Seriously taking advantage of the NSWiki, though. :D

Although I'm not exactly a "big" poster. But I intend to be. This June I have nothing at all to do, so...expect improvements to my postcount.

I know, there are still a few people around, but a lot of the people that hung around the forum just don't anymore.

Does Opal Isle still post?

Yeah, that kinda happens on any forum. I belong to a different forum, and have for about a year. When the popularity of it spread, it became pretty boring with a bunch of fluff... I decided to seek out something new, but I still post there.

I just joined a couple of days ago. So, I understand the weirdness of all of that. I don't know many people in my old board anymore, either.

php > whatever it is now. Plus, many people get really sick of debating/flaming about politics and religion.

I'm fairly new, but I've seen some subjects done to death. There's always hope something new will come up. Besides, even threads that have been done to death are fun with Cat-Tribe.
