[NS:]Sethesh

Went to the dentist today for my 6 monthly checkup, my filling fell out about a 2-3 weeks ago and re-opened an old and forgotten cavity. So, the Tooth may have to be removed, i dont know but its been temporarily refilled and X-rayed.

So im wondering, how many Fillings does everyone have?

I think 3 but overall I've had lots over time. One of my teeth is effectively a filling.

Out of the 30 teeth still left in my head I think there is only 4 that don't have fillings or have been crowned.

My poor, dear departed mother-in-law once went to the dentist for a quote for fillings. At a cost of £5.00 per tooth, the old love had to fork out £500.00.

It's not so much a filling as the remaining shell of a tooth which shattered when I planted my face into the unmovable Earth.

zero. trick is, you have to brush your teeth obsessively. and FLOSS> flossing helps rid your mouth of plaque, and those germs are the ones that cause cavities.

On the contrary. With the increases in dental hygeine and prevention in our generation, there are more and more people without any need for fillings. I am 24 and have yet to ever need one.

Check your spelling before presuming people w/out fillings are too young.

er... why isn't there an option for none? I have no fillings. I don't understand why everyone's teeth seem to fall apart so easily :p

Same here. I don't even have to get my wisdom teeth pulled when they come because everything's OK. (I don't mean to rub it in anyone's face, I'm just very happy for myself.)

I don't have any fillings whatsoever. I take care of my teeth. Don't hate me, I have TMJ, and that MORE than makes up for it.

I'm 21 and have never had a cavity.

I have permanent retainers attached to the backs of my teeth (go orthodontics) and grind my teeth in my sleep though...

I have a lot of them, but you can't tell they are fillings as they are all tooth-colored. Have you tried visiting a dentist who uses the Cerec technology? It's awesome! I'm not sure what can be done about your tooth, but at least a dentist who uses the latest in dental technology would be more likely to try to save it.

Oh - please don't remind of that... I only have one of those wisdom teeth and my dentist told me to have it removed 'cause it screws up the rest by pushing everything else around (which I can tell by now - he's the "bully" of my oval cavity...). The only other tooth that had to be pulled was a deciduous one which root was too strong and the "real" one underneath it couldn't get out. Other than that - big smile for y'all :D

(And yes, I do eat a lot of sugary & sweet things and try to brush my teeth twice a day. I only floss when meat filaments got stuck in between.)

I have no fillings. My diet involves much sugar and stuff that destroys teeth. When I was eight, I tried going for two months without brushing. In all realistic respects, my teeth are made of the toughest substance known to man.

not one filling, cap or crown - all my own teeth and yes I brush regularely but no I dont floss

my wisdom teeth came through with no problems at all and I have nicely even teeth as a whole

my mother puts it down to the fact that I had a calcium rich diet as a baby and small child and still continue to do so - that could also explain the fact that despite being thrown off horses on a regualr basis for most of my life (usually into a cross country jump or a show jump or indeed the trunk of a tree or the wall of an indoor school) I have onlt ever broken one bone and even then the doctor who saw the incident stated I had got off lucky as I had a hairline fracture in my scaphoid and from the impact he thought I should have shattered my arm in several places - I have also been kicked in the mouth by a shod horse and although I needed several stiches around bottom lip (hehehehehe who needs collagen injections;) )my teeth were undamaged

dental hygene does come into it obviously but I also think diet has alot to do with dental strength as well

wow I am being chatty tonight! I usually lurk lol

Oh dear god wisdom teeth. I have one wisdom tooth coming through at the minute and it's taking forever. Every so often, it decides to remind me of it's presence by pushing into the molar in front of it, the gum around it, the jaw behind it, etc...
