Neo-Nazi's in Boston

Guess who tried to demonstrate in Boston at the Holocaust Memorial this weekend? Yep, the white-supremacists and Neo-Nazis. And just as I predicted, my Bostonian brethren got extremely pissed. It took half the police force just to prevent a riot.

This event has finally confirmed what I had always suspected: these groups have no ideal of logic or common sense.

Boston: the capital of the most liberal state in the US. I know these groups WANT to anger, but what did they expect? What were they thinking? There is a reason WHY these groups haven't demonstrated here in years. (sigh).

(I'm heading off to school, so leave your comments here.)

These groups are more dangerous than most people actually realize, and frankly, should be illegal.
They indeed have logic and common sense.

They were after ATTENTION.

What better way to get it, than cause a stink at a Holocuast Memorial?

If 2000 people see them, and just 2 people stop to hear what they have to say, they consider it a victory.

The ebst thing to do, is simply pretend they arent there.

They HATE that shit.

Although, I completely disagree with their ideals and actions and whatnot. For the good of America, the demonstrations must be allowed. I dont like them any more than any of you do but if we dont let them, then we are violating one of the ideals of our country, and that is freedom of speech and expression.

I agree that people should ignore them, but there is a first amendment issue with banning them.

Consider that in the country where Nazi speech is most restricted, Germany, that is where the neo-Nazi party is strongest.

These groups shouldn't be banned. All speech should be protected. And they're not very dangerous except to themselves. Every time they open their mouths more people turn against them.

*Hands fully loaded shotgun*

I'm just glad that the neo-nazis in Germany chickened out and refrained from their "shame-parade" on May 8th.

After they weren't allowed to march through the Brandenburg Gate (and past the new Holocaust memorial) in Berlin and when about three times their number of protesters showed up they decided not to have a rally...

BTW: What happened to the Illinois nazis after BBs?

what he said.

they're only dangerous if people actually start paying attention and their ideas start to get a foothold

That is the double-edged sword that is the First Ammendment. Under it, people are allowed to say whatever they wish outside the "Clear and Present Danger" clause. We can bitch all we want, but they have the right. We censor these chumps, what next? I disagree with them (with vengance), but I'll cut my teeth to defend their rights.

...So, in conclusion, censoring them isn't the solution...we just need to catch them violating "Clear and Present Danger", then have them arrested.

Anyone got a digital camcorder? :p

I live a short drive away from the former home of the Aryan Nations. When they still had their little trailer compound (My first point against their so-called superiority; why would superior people have to live in inferior conditions?) they used to petition for parade permits from the city of Coeur D'Alene so they could hold a march down the main drag on Hitler's birthday. The best thing the people of that city ever did was for the shopowners on that route to all decide to close down for the day, and buy advertisements mentioning the closure (but not the march) and provide suggestions of other shops or entertainments to be had on that day...now that's smart thinking.

The police had to remove the neo-Nazis for their own safety. The opposing crowd was getting very violent.

The only problem with neo-nazi rallies in Germany is that the bastards officially sign up their little BS-event and those who protest against it are (on a regular basis... sadly enough) stupid enough to start rioting. Then the cops actually have to protect the nazis from the protesters...

Hence the saying "German policemen protect the fascists"
(Deutsche Polizisten
schützen die Faschisten)
or
"Justice is blind on the right eye"
(Justizia ist auf dem rechten Auge blind)

Nonsense. The Neo-nazis are a tiny minority here. But here they aren't allowed to demonstrate at Holocaust memorials.

Tell that to the Jew radio announcer type who was assassinated, the several armed cars they robbed, and the people they bombed.
