What posters do you like/admire/tend to agree with?

The poster I most often find myself agreeing with is Sinahue. I like most of the frequent posters in General, even if I DON'T agree with them. I don't know who I admire, though. I'm sure it will come to me. :p

I really like Whispering Legs and Eutrusca.

I admire Cat-Tribe for always backing up his arguments.

I probably agree with Bottle most.

Do we really need another one of these? They're really getting on my nerves.

Finding out that Cat-Tribe was a lawyer helped me deal a lot better with his argument/research style. At least it has explination which takes the accusing finger away from me and my laziness. Lately these lists have had a small faction of the 'Cat-Tribe Appreciation Society' so I'll be one of the first to start that again. The guy's good, and we needed another researcher after Incertonia and Zeppistan left.

wow, you really make a big deal out of nothing. i see it more as people testing the waters to see who thinks along the same lines. my beliefs and my confidence won't be changed by finding out who agrees with me, but i've already been surprised at some of the people who say they strongly agree with me. i see this thread as an opportunity to learn about my fellow players and their beliefs, but that's probably because i don't assume everything is about me :).

It is sad when people agree with you for the popularity of your name. It isnt when you change a mind through well-thought out argumentation and widen other peoples horizons by presenting them facts of which they had no former knowledge etc. It is seldom, but worth it in my oppinion.

To clarify: I meant agreeing by default because someone is well known, has a high post count and is considered funny, popular etc. Just because, e.g., i can laugh at several funny posts of poster x that doesnt mean i agree with him/her more often on topics that require more than witty banter. This doesnt seem to be standard procedure for the average forum user.

I really kinda like everyone for at least a few reasons. The ones on my sides of debates, they usually either make me feel better by bringing up points I was going to far before I could, or otherwise enlightening me on other aspects of the argument I hadn't considered. The ones that I argue with, they not only let me get out my verbal agitation on strangers (always a little fun), but at least have a chance (though few ever actually TAKE IT) to open my eyes to things I hadn't realized. The stupid people.....well, okay, um.....I'm a spelling and grammar nut, despite the colloquial and idiomatic nature of these boards, so when I see people STILL screwing up despite how casual these conversations are.....it fills me with glee.

However, I really hate myself for my tendency towards typos.....and my love affar with ellipses. (That's the "dot dot dot" if you didn't already know)

But I admire the careful thought and committment to ideals that Cat has. It's something I usually find lacking in someone who "believes" something.

Agreed. I have respect for CT, even though I probably agree with him only about half the time.

I admire The Cat-Tribe. I need to learn to debate like him.

I think in the last few days I've come to respect Reformentia the most, though Cat - Tribe is a close second.

I like and respect several posters, particularly UpwardThrust and Grave_n_Idol.

I admire Eutrusca, primarly for what he's seen in his life and that through it all he remains engaged in bettering the world.

I can't honestly say that there are very many people here that I agree with on a frequent basis. My views as a conservative Christian put me at odds with the majority who see religion as a farce and my position on government staying out of religious issues isn't popular with the christian's here. As a result I find myself feeling largely misunderstood and like I'm on an island alone here on a frequent basis. Please don't think that I'm playing the martyr or anything. I actually expect to be very different from most people, I have been all my life so it is nothing new and nothing I can't handle. I was taught from a young age to think for myself and to be satisfied with doing what I know/believe to be right regardless of what anyone else says or thinks. It has served me well to date...

I greatly admire and respect each of those persons, but not ONLY those persons.

Other important figures for me (those I admire, but might NOT always agree with): Suicidal Librarians (who seems to be back, after a long absence???), Personal Responsibilit (Despite our 'opposite sides of the track' nature), Keruvalia, FutureExistence, Goodthoughts, Aluminia, Shaed, Pracus, Sinuhue...

I find that my appreciation for someone seems to be inversely proportional to the number of posts they have.

I tend to agree a lot with Cat-Tribe , he does his research well and puts together a well thought out argument. I could say the same thing for Bottle too. I could name others as well that use to be on the forum, but it would appear that they got sick of NS and left.

I've always adored Bottle, even when I didn't agree with her. Always a pleasure to watch her mind at work.

I've been busy with RL stuff the last few weeks, and I'm not sure who is still here and who isn't. I'll say Eutrusca because he has similar views as I do and because he's my buddy.

I disagree with a lot of people. I can usually find a point to argue even the posters I agree with. I like the whole devil's advocate thing, that and I'm pretty self-righteous, but who on here isn't?

It is funny, though, that the list of posters you single out that you disagree with include four people whose views are completely inconsistent with my own.

wow, you really make a big deal out of nothing. i see it more as people testing the waters to see who thinks along the same lines. my beliefs and my confidence won't be changed by finding out who agrees with me, but i've already been surprised at some of the people who say they strongly agree with me. i see this thread as an opportunity to learn about my fellow players and their beliefs, but that's probably because i don't assume everything is about me :).
