MP3 player?

I'm starting to wonder if I should get an MP3 player. CDs never worked for me because I like random songs. So now that you can pick what you want, I think I might get a player.

So what types are out there under $100? Obviously not an Ipod. And what are average capabilities?

Why get an MP3 Player when you can get an 8-Track?

It's the latest development in portable music. Very compact and twice the tracks than regular tape.

You could get this 256 MB player from Creative Labs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102130), or go slightly over your price limit and get this 512 MB player, also from Creative Labs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102169).

I've heard good things about MP3 players from Creative Labs, who also make most PC Sound Cards, and iRiver. Both, most importantly, are also cheaper than IPods.

Try a mini disk player. You can copy your fav songs from your CD's as well os copy MP3's onto disk, and your space limit is dependent only on the number of mini disks you can carry

Otherwise, I'd suggest e-bay, you should be able to pick up something dirt cheap. I know someone who got a cheap one for $40

I have an Iriver 256meg flash model that I'm very happy with, and you can get one for about $100-125. The RCA Lyra line is also very good, and expandable with memory cards. Research them on the manufacturers' websites, and see what others have to say about them on zdnet and Amazon. Good luck!

WELL, you do NOT want shit from creative, it sucks.

Try out this, it DOES go over your price limits, HOWEVER.

It has the most fetures of any Flash Player, Inculding Radio Recording, and in line recording, and a color LCD. There is also a 1gig model.

But you said you like random. So get a shuffle. It's completely random.

I just use my mobile phone. Kills two birds with one stone. It has as much memory as I'm prepared to buy for it.

iRiver, 256 megs, $115 CDN. FM tuner and recording, cool shape....

Best thing I could find. My RCA Lyra sucked - it would cut out after 2-5 minutes of play, then play a screech. Not fun.

If it was under warranty you should have had it replaced. Mine works very well. I just bought new headphones to replace the ones that came with it. And got a 256Mb card.
