That's ridiculous. Winning a Nobel Peace Prize for declaring wars? Hmmm. And Iraq is such a peaceful place now....

They deserve it, but the Nobel committee is full of anti-American socialists who would rather give it to a terrorist like Arafat.

Hey, come on, if that despicable human piece of filth Henry Kissinger can get one, why can't B&B?

Where does this number of 55 million 'liberated' come from? The population of Iraq is about 25 million. Are you counting Afghanistan as well?

Because Bush loves war! He can't get enough of it! How has he in any way made the world more peaceful? By bombing Iraq and Afghanistan, resulting in a massive increase in terrorist recruitment? By supporting Israel unquestioningly because of totally ludicrous theology, thereby fueling most of the anti-Americanism in the middle east in the first place?

Liberated? Sure he toppled Saddam's dictatorship, but now we're the dictators. What were our real reasons for attacking Iraq? Oil and big business, or freedom? Do you actually think anyone in the world is so righteous? Why do you think that we're still being attacked and the war isn't over? We aren't wanted there! There will always be some people who don't like stuff, but this is ridiculous. The war is retarded, Bush deserves a punch in the face more than he does a nobel prize.

If there's a Nobel prize for lies, stupidity, war crimes, and general assholery, I will be the first to nominate them both. I promise.

well i don't think they can win, but i would like to see it happen just for the amusment factor of seeing all the socialist liberals in europe frothing at the mouth.
:D
this right here is enough reason for me
American Kaise Urfali, 46, was among 10 people gathered at the Atlanta rally to oppose the protesters.
"These people have no clue, they have no idea about the meaning of terrorism and the meaning of freedom, These protesters talk in the name of Iraq and none of them are from Iraq, none of them lived in the terror."
i also have an audio clip from a debate on a local talk radio show between an anti-war protester and an iraqi man who moved to america to escape saddams regime. which only re-inforces what kaise urfali said.

technically, Kissinger orginally shared that peace prize with the North Vietnamese negotiator Le Duc Tho, but Le Duc Tho refused the honor.
I don't think any world leader involved in warfare should be awarded a Nobel Prize if it involve a war. It would only bring hypocracy to the award's prestige.

If Yassar Arafat can win a Nobel Peace prize, then it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The cash prize is another matter.

They also collectively killed more than 1500, wounded more than 6000 and those are just American lives to boot. How many people died in the 10 years between the two Iraq conflicts? How many people died because of inaction by both countries? Bush and Blair jump in the hot seat, representing countries, in conflict and they are to be seriously considered for a Nobel Prize for what? For not being lameducks? For doing something they did nothing to pressure our leaders into doing previously? I don't think so.

I think the civilian death toll in 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' is over 24,000 and rising.

I forgot... After Bush finally decided that he couldn't hide that the WMD's didn't exist anymore, he changed the nickname of the Iraqi invasion from Desert Storm II to "Operation Iraqi Freedom."
I'll support George W. getting one right after Kim Jung Il gets his. In otherwise, wait till hell freezes over and get back to me. :D

do i need to remind you that the Nobel's were known as evil men. The peace prize is funded by a mand whose father made landminds. This man developed the blasting cap. Peace is relative. The people who deserve the prize are the ones that are willing to fight for peace. Not the people that will sit around and say they want it but arent willing to fight for it. Its ironic i know but it is the way things are.

Oil? Are you sure? I am paying 2.50 a gallon. Where is that oil? You need to stop being so ignorant. 10% of the people in iraq dont want us there and of that 10 8% are foreign. Learn some facts before you go around dishing out your filth like its gospel truth. Paranoia isnt healthy my internet aquaintance.

If only the Nobel Peace prize was based on results. If it was, then Carter would have been given a swift kick in the ass and Bush and Blair would be praised for actually delivering freedom to people.

Well, the Bush administration, IIRC, said that we would be greeted as liberators to try to prop up support for his war plans (this was before the bombs started dropping, of course).
Well, any assumption that Iraq would mean cheap SUV juice was dependent on this assumption. The people who originally made this argument did not expect the insurgency to blow up oil pipelines, putting a crimp in Iraq's ability to flood the market with oil.
We might win every single street fight with the insurgents, but when American troops aren't looking, they hit us where it hurts.
Shades of Vietnam, where we won just about every direct military engagement but were still ultimately outwitted by the insurgency.
