I'm glad I don't live in Thailand and I'm not a pig farmer.
I just happen to be eating at this moment. How messed up would you say it is on a scale from 1-10 for someone who has a strong stomach?

The funny thing about this is that doctors are starting to use maggots medically. They don't eat live flesh, so doctors put them on a person to get rid of decaying flesh rather than going in surgically.

They wouldn't have nested if there wasn't rotting flesh in there in the first place... maggots only eat dead tissue.

There are no pictures. If you have a strong or even average stomach you should be OK.

Depends on the type of fly that laid the eggs. Some maggots prefer live flesh.

Well, they've been eradicated in the USA. So that's why we don't have them here. They like warm weather, so that's why they don't live in colder areas, you'll find them present everywhere else.

So what! So they found maggots in s.o.'s nose. I've seen scarier things than that - IRL. And the woman will live, so what's the bid deal?
Honestly, except for the thought that s.th. is eating its way to your brains - what else is so scary about it?
People who live around the sub-tropics or the tropics could probably tell you more stories about how simple cuts in their skin hosted more maggots than that.

Pthppt, I eat sausage raw yo. Most insects would die in your system.

The maggots used in medicine are a specific variety that is specially bred to be sterile for medical use. Hosptials don't use just any maggots.
