"Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside." - Stewie

Oh man, good times.

family guy is classic. im tired of all the new kiddie cartoons that are all about good morals. whatever happend to the good ole days when one charactor used to see how many different ways he could blow up his enemy, then ended up always failing and blowing himself up. those were the good cartoons

Gotta love Family Guy, especially the Pinocchio and Geppetto part of the new episode. THAT was pure gold.

Dear lord that was wrong. :)

My favorite part was the very beginning where Peter listed all the shows Fox tried and failed inbetween cancelling Family Guy and taking it back.

I used to like Family Guy, then I turned 17...

Well, more like 21, but close enough. The show has one time shock value, it has no lasting appeal. They need to focus more on story and characters instead of on seeing how many "flashbacks" they can squeeze into 30 seconds.

The show tries to catch this "random" vibe, but it's pathetically predictable, when they did that GI Joe "knowing is half the battle" thing, I felt like I had seen that 100 times already. Also, saying Christians don't believe in gravity may be funny on some level to some people, but in reality it's all part and parcel of Seth MacFarlane's "progressive" (socialist) agenda.

I don't know, I guess I'm just glad I've grown up since the show was last on the air.

The sad thing is that a few of those shows were like Family Guy, in that they shouldn't have been cancelled and were PURE GOLD as well.

I watched two episodes of the old series to give it a shot because everyone was telling me it was so great, it wasnt. I gave it another shot by watching the first episode of the new series and that was boring too. I give up, the show is terrible. I dont understand what people find humorous about it. It tries to be shockingly humorous but fails. If you want shocking humour, watch south park instead.

Yeah, I know I heard Firefly in his rant.

Andy Richter Control the Universe was pretty good too. Also Titus and Greg the Bunny. Though those just may be my stupid opinion. Keen Eddie was also a nice, quirky cop show. A nice change of pace from the usual cop drama.

Titus was a fucking riot, that is, until Fox screwed the show with a crappy timeslot. Chris Titus even explained on Late Night with Conan O'Brien that he was going to turn the show into a psychotic shock comedy because of it. And, guess what? He did, and the show was cancelled after the season finale.

Speaking of those shows on fox (sorry, i don't know how to quote previous comments) what did you think of that show The Pitts?

I hated it and was glad it was taken off the air as quickly as it was. A lot of those shows Fox tried were pure garbage. Like Fear Factor, but that's still on the air. Eating pig uterus. sick.

also, i'm having trouble keeping up with UN resolutions. i was wondering, how are those enforced (if at all)?

I heard that The Pitts was terrible. Seth MacFarlane worked on it as a creative consultant, and even he thought it was shit.

That show was ridiculous. One of the episodes, the son of the family was a werewolf, and the daughter had this pipe stuck through her head. It made me want to kill things. Seriously. Pissed me off.

"Titus" was one of the absolute funniest shows I've ever seen. His father was one of the best television characters ever written. Did anyone see the episode where his father gives up drinking and Titus is saying that they don't have a single photo of him where he ISN'T holding a beer, and then they show some photos of him doing totally unrelated things like jumping a hill on snow skis and in every single one he's actually holding a beer bottle and making the same stupid smile? In the end, they all decide that he was a much better person as an alcoholic so they try to convince him to start drinking again. Or another episode where he's talking about his uncle's surprise funeral, and then adds in "How many more people have to die!?" and it cuts to the party, which is a darkened living room with people waiting. The door opens, they all yell "SURPRISE!" and the uncle pulls out his pistol and starts randomly shooting into the crowd. It was like a live-action "Family Guy". I miss Titus...

Well I never said all those cancelled shows were good. Fox manages to make a lot of crap and although they know how to get rid of it they can't seem to recognize the few gems that they actually ARE given.

I also found the Priest collar shuriken hilarious.

All around I'd say it was a great welcome back episode. They even had the oiled up deaf guy from the company picnic episode. I was even impressed by the new Simpsons episodes.

All in all, a fabulous couple hours of TV. I just hope Fox keeps it up.

Yes, I agree, Titus was hilarious. Chris Titus is a funny guy on his own, but pairing him up with Stacy Keach was sheer genius.

Yep... It was indeed a live-action Family Guy. Glorious, even in its ridiculously psychotic final season.

And, don't forget about The Tick. Or Andy Richter Controls The Universe.

I like Family Guy. I think it's one of the more witty shows out there. However, I thought the new episode was a little lackluster. To me the jokes came off as a little cliche and forced, which isn't characteristic of what I've seen from the older episodes. Maybe the writers are a little rusty... or maybe I just wasn't in the Family Guy mood. I don't know which. (:
