As a huge Joy Division fan I can say that they deserve the utmost recognition. They wrote some of the most passionate music I have ever heard in my life. <Puts unknown pleasures on record player>

I've never heard anything by them, what do they sound like? Not like New Order, I hope.

Don't worry, they sound nothing like New Order, their sound completely changed when they reformed. It's post punk, akin to Echo and the Bunnymen... Interpol sound kinda like them, in Turn On the Bright Lights at least. I suggest you listen to unknown pleasures.

Agreed. I just bought it the day before. Haven't had the time to watch it yet but maybe on Thursday. (I have seen it in a cinema though)

Do you know about the new movie being made about Joy Division itself? I think Jude Law plays Ian Curtis, don't know if thats true though.

I've some distant memory of reading or hearing about that but can't remember. Imdb won't help.

Either way, whoever plays him had better be a fan, otherwise the acting just wont fire, it'd be hard enough to duplicate Ian Curtis's passion even if he were your idol (god forbid).
