Drummer needs a little help...
...to make a very long story excessively short, I've finally gotten back to where I was in terms of skill. I have begun writing my own stuff again, but I am frustrated by the lack of percussion music selections at my local music store.
I want to learn some songs!
Can anyone recommend a good drum-tab website out there? Most of the ones I have found are filled with tabs sent in by random people, most of which are pretty poorly done. :(

Ever tried listening to music and tab it yourself?

A lot, actually...but you only have so many hours in a day! :)
Thanks Gataway Driver! That's actually one I have yet to come across, and from a quick look through, it looks pretty good. I'll have to take some more time tonight to look around more thoroughly.

Drum tab ... heh ...
Not laughing at you, just the idea.
I used to give students a CD set which had the music with the drum track louder so that they could listen to it and try to mimic it and then tracks with the same songs without a drum track at all. Great learning tool.
I bet I can even put it together into an mp3 package you can download. Lemme work on that for you.

That's a great system...my old drum teacher used to do something very similar.
Thank you ever so much for the offer, but please don't make the effort. Even if I were inclined to download anything (my computer at home is a complete piece of crap), my drum-kit is on the second floor, and I have no outlet with which to play MP3's other than my computer on the first floor...so I wouldn't have any way to listen and learn other than...
...listen downstairs...run upstairs...try to remember everything...forget some things...run downstairs again...listen downstairs....repeat x infinity... :p
So again, thank you ever so much for the offer...but I'll pass. :)
What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians....
....a drummer.
That said, I wish I could drum.

Me too. I'd buy a kit, but I have no room. :(

Drum....tabs....?
I do it all by ear. I dont even know how to read drum sheet music [I've been playing for 7 years now], and it hasn't bothered anyone I've worked with. I don't think its very practical to play $SONG the exact same way as its played on the album: figure out the main beat yourelf and change up the fills a bit; that's what I do. Generally I keep a straight beat for the first verse and chorus or two then get more adventurous with the song as it nears completion.

Oh man ... I wish! I've been working on it, though. There's a mathematical science to it that takes some practice, but I'll give it a go!
This band's gonna rock.
*hands WL a cowbell* ... I hope you can dance around like Will Ferrel! Oh, and grow a beard, damnit!

Drum....tabs....?
Yeah ... that's what I was thinking. Heh ... it gave me a chuckle, too.
I always figured sheet music was for band kids who play one drum. If there's a music stand by my kit, I'm using it as an instrument.
