Should I Sell My Vote?

The Abomination
02-05-2005, 00:42
With election fever raging in Britain I have been revelling in my utter contempt for democracy. However, my hatred of this whole system of semi-regulated, divisive mob rule will certainly not get in the way of making a fast quid or two.

So here is my dilemma - should I sell my vote on a certain well known auction site?

The argument runs thusly - if no-one buys it, it will prove that democracy is a sham, one man can't make a difference and everyone knows it - democracy is irrelevant. But if someone does buy it, it merely demonstrates that the whole system is fundamentally built on self-interest and corruption.

From my point of view, it is a win-win situation. So should I, how much do you think I'd get if I did and does anyone want to purchase one vote, slightly soiled?

Hardly win-win when selling your vote is illegal under the Representation of the People Act...

Besides, if no-one bought it, couldn't that also prove that democracy does work, and the people respect and uphold the law?
