Hmm. Nice - this meant I was actually able to watch the last episode of Doctor Who* as it was broadcast rather than waiting for a torrent to appear.
* Very, very good episode, despite it being a partial remake of the Big Finish audio Jubilee.

Wow, this is the best thing ever. News 24, among other things is also on there. Very nice find. *gives you a jillion thumbs up*
Beats getting the programmes ages after you get to see them on SVT or BBC Prime. I see Eastend is still going, remember that from my time in England.
Can you get BBC World steamed?
And does UK not have a TV fee any more? Or do they not know about this?

The UK does still have the licence fee, but it appears that the BBC are taking the view here that one pays a licence fee not for watching their output, but rather for owning a receiver capable of picking up standard analogue broadcast TV signals. One has never needed a license fee to listen to the BBC's radio output after all.
If you poke around in the parent directories you will find a bit more information, but not much, about this trial.

Ok, just wondering how they would feel about me watching their output... I'm in Sweden and thus haven't paid for the UK's licence fee.
When Swedish Television shows a BBC import, SVT has obviously paid for the right to do so. Clearly, me viewing via this method means I'm getting around all of this.
In the same way, my cable tv delivers BBC World and BBC Prime - but these are subscription channels with adverts.
I guess the new media age throws up problems for public service broadcasting's funding methods (not just in UK, here as well).

Was wasn't it. Though can't really say I was that surprised, it was written by the same guy and as not everyone will have heard the audio adventure...
BBC being streamed is a good thing. I've been listening to many radio shows afterwards, but now I get can TV if I miss something too :D

There doesn't seem to be a 'watch again' feature similar to their 'listen again' festure for radio shows, as of yet.

We shall see - they do not somewhere on the site that not all content will be streamed due to rights issues, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if films like this aren't streamed.

Back in the good old days, you had to have a radio license. It was abolished a long time ago however.

Of course, I like how I found out about this, after Dr. Who is finished.
Bastard BBC america didn't show it because it would conflict with their twenty four hour a day "what not to wear" schedule. God I hate those people.

I've been watching the episodes prior to this one thanks to BitTorrent - seek and you shall find.

I think it is more a case that they are hoping that one of the US networks will pick up the show and help them to recoup the money they put into it.

Well you can have your reasonable interpretation, and I'll stick to my paranoid conspiracy theory about BBC America being out to get me; thank you very much. :)
And unfortunately I don't see much hope of any US network picking Dr. Who up. That's just not realistic on their part, especially after FOX got burnt on the last Dr. Who pilot.

i read a while back that the BBC was going to do a 'watch again' service for some of their programmes, similar how to what they currently have for their radio progs. this looks like the first step... w00t!

Yarr. I've managed to get onto the bbc1 page, and i can't see any 'watch now' type icons. If I have to go in through the link in the 1st post I'm screwed as that's not working for me right now.
Maybe they've maxed out their trial connection or summat

They pulled it, as people outside the UK were able to watch it, apparently (nevermind the fact that almost all of Eire watches the BBC). It will be interesting to see if the trial resurfaces ina modified form.
