Place your bets on who will win the British General election. No odds, its a free-for-all. The winners shall receive this plaque *shows it*

What's the most libertarian (*sigh* that's to say libertarian-capitalist) party running there? Forgive my lack of knowledge of political parties in Britain

All the parties are identical. The differences are that Labour are red, the Tories are blue, the Lib Dems are yellow, the Greens are green, and all the rest are purple. That's how I tell them apart.

And I wouldn't bet on the most libertarian winning.

I think that would be the Liberal Democrats.

I'm betting the BNP will come up from behin for the win. Then they'll take to wearing jackboots and goose-stepping about, and the rest of Europe will go "Oh shit. Not again."

I bet that labour will win it, even though I don't want them to. The most capitalistic party is the conservatives... I dunno about libertarian though. probably lib-dems. No prominent libertarian capitalist parties though, and even the conservatives don't question the existence of very socialist bodies like the NHS.

In American terms the Lib Dems aren't very 'libertarian' because they would actually raise income tax, unlike the other parties, and many see tax as anti-libetarian. They do believe in civil liberties quite strongly though, I believe. They would never have gone for the control orders, or ID cards.

I was thinking libertarian as purely civil liberties, and forgot about the whole "tiny government" aspect of it. Oopsie.

I'd have tio say New Labour again.

Blair's promised withdrawal from the "Coalition Of The Willing" should give him a squeak through victory. Blair's margin would be higher if he could only get the troops home prior to the election

If they existed here in the US, I'd vote for them next election.
Hell, I'll vote for them whether or not they're here!

They've been around since the eighties. Sometimes they even get their deposit back.

They had a councillor in Sidmouth for years.

Started by Screaming Lord Sutch, who died a few years ago. He came to fame in the seventies as an independent, I think, proposing using the EEC's milk lakes for boating and the grain mountains for skiing.

...they probably have a better chance of beating the GOP than the DEMs at this rate!!

I'd almost move to the UK to vote for these guys!

Might just be time for a US chapter! ;)
