Tea for any other time, though. It just tastes better.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Brewed tea beats the hell out of the instant crap you buy at the store.

Brewed coffee. Far too much of it. Sometimes I drink tea (standard and herbal) instead, but only if it's brewed properly. And none of that instant coffee sh**.

Do you guys get melrose's tea over there? I prefer it to most brewed tea. Even though it's in a bag.

Never heard of it. The only instant tea I get is Lipton, because it's half-decent. It's a lot easier than brewing it yourself, and a lot cheaper... But, still, it tastes like shit compared to the real thing!

I don't like lipton, it doesn't taste like proper tea. If you ever see melrose's on sale, the unflavored type, I recommend it (I've got 300 bags of it in my cupboard at all times ) You can get it loose too, but I'm just so lazy ;)

I will try it, then. I've gotten Earl Grey before, and it's very good stuff.

Lipton tea doesn't have any leafiness... It's just dark water.... that's bitter. If you're in South Africa, pick up some Five Roses. Dilmah is good too.

I wouldn't call it the champ. More the playground bully of all coffees. it's all strength and no subtlety, and if you drink enough, you will feel beaten up, and have no lunch money.
:D

(don'tcha just love overanalysing stuff?)

If you're really crazy, make what my local coffee shop (props to Last Drop Coffee Shop of Monroe, CT!) makes: the 747.

Simply combine 7 espressos and cut with coffee. Only drink I know of wherein the small is more dangerous than the large.

I like it best with hazelnut or jamaicain blue and a dash of half & half...

...fortunately, I don't drink it very often. :D

Or in a closed jar out in the sun. It's called sun tea. Pour it over ice and enjoy.

I love coffee. I love it black and strong, so strong in fact that if you put a spoon next to it it will try to wrestle it away. That taste and a pretty sleep-deprived schedule made it that I quickly became addicted to caffeine. A little too much.

Each time I woke up I had a blinding headache from caffeine withdrawal. Then, as soon as the black brew would hit my lips, not only would the headache instantly vanish, but an overwhelming and much too intense sensation of pleasure would sweep over me. That was the point I decided something had to be done.

So, to answer the question, tea.

I come from a family of immigrants from big-time coffee drinking countries, and my parents always made a big affair of coffee drinking, so their appreciation for the stuff is something that sort of rubbed off on me.

I don't drink it in large quantities. Just a cup or two of fair-trade cooperative-grown Colombian dark roast with breakfast and a double-cappucino in the evening while I do my studying. For me, coffee is a completely ritualistic affair. I always brush my teeth afterwards, though. That's the only inconvenience. I don't want coffee teeth. >_<

i am a complete and total tea addict. i got hooked on the stuff during leaving cert. i'd say i would drink about 3-4 cups on average a day. in fact, i'm having one right now.

As an Englishmen I feel duy-bound to answer tea. Regular 'Rosie Lee', but if I could have a preference a blend of standard Breakfast tea and Earl Grey (Lady Grey in the morning). The best way to achieve a satisying personal blend is to make two small pots of each, so you can blend it to your own taste. Remember- always warm your tea pots before pouring in the hot water.
I have no problem with tea-bags, they are convenient and prevent bits of tea leaves getting into your cup.
Drunk from a china mug (I have a collection of Royal memorabilia mugs which I prefer to drink from), and of course, always pour the tea in before the milk. No sugar.
