What war, that America (U.S.) has been in, is the greatest in your mind?
What cause was the most noble that is and why?
Did the soldiers that lost their lives fight for a just cause?
etc.

Even though I'm British, the War Of Independence. The most just cause in the world for fighting is to gain Independence or freedom from supressors in my opinion.

1812, well, the Americans started that by invading Canada...

The Civil War. IMO, it was the true birth of this nation. It did save it politically, but it did much more than that. It was what united America by values, even if they were Northern values (which made up a majority of the population and economic activity at the time). It gave rise to a moral order that is still in existence today, albiet with many changes. It gave Washington more than token power in the US's administration. And it was the war where the US truely emerged as an economic and military superpower. It started out quite dirty, but its results were noble indeed.
