So what do you think of Kierkegaard's idea of a leap of faith as the only way to get religious truth?
Personally, I think it's a load of bunk. While I agree that you can't make some logical deduction to get to religion, I also think that it is also reasonable to believe, and a leap is not necessary.

The unexamined faith is actually no faith at all. If your faith can't stand the clear light of reason, you should seriously consider finding one that will. :)

If faith could stand up to reason, it wouldnt be faith, it'd be fact.
Kierkegaard had it backwards. A leap of faith is the only way to arrive at religious bunk.

I might be wrong, but is't that bit hypocricy(SP?)? I agree that unexamined faith is someways wrong. But to find a one that suits you best? It doesn't seem reasonable either.

I take the view that logic is pretty much the opposite of religion. Religion is not about explaining the world as so many atheists seem to assume; that's just a convenient label. It's true purpose is more about a way of living your life, and logic can't tell you how to do that. Unless you're a vulcan.
Kierkegaard had it backwards. A leap of faith is the only way to arrive at religious bunk.A leap of faith is always about Religion. its placing trust into something because you don't have the facts.
everyone takes the Leap of Faith. And sometimes it does include religion. A leap of faith can be Trusting in your Friend or Companion. it can be delving to new areas, Physically, Emotionally and Intellectually.
it would help tho. if we had Kieregaard's quote to know more as to what you are talking about.

That was his idea. I think his idea is a bunch of bunk.
