Well, there's little over a month until June, and the promised invasion of Iran doesn't seem to be anywhere near to happening.

I remember sometime during the winter there was a rather large thread claiming that an invasion of said country was planned for said time. And, let's face it, the forces required to expand into Iran are not in region, the runup to a war has not occured, and well, noone is even talking about such a thing.

I think it's time for us to realize that we aren't going into Iran any time soon, if at all.

Just a thought, but we never thought we'd be going to Afghanistan anytime soon when it was September 10, 2001.

I certainly hope we're not. That's all we need --- Hundreds of our soldiers dying for a cause that never was.

Wait, that's already happening.

I'm a big fan of the "one war at a time" theory. Let's finish the current folly before going into another fine mess.

Like we should have done with Afghanistan.

Yeah, but Afghanistan was a small, special forces and air strikes war. Iran would be a full regular war. Tanks, helicopters, infantry, artillery and all.

Beyond that, in afghanistan, we were committed to no other major conflicts at the time. Now we're committed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There also was tremendous public support for the invasion of Afghanistan. Which there is not any of right now.

Well, technically, we could just abandon Iraq and Afghanistan and invade Iran. The troops are there. We obviously can't do that, but just saying, technically, it is possible.
