its not vast, and its not a conspiracy. its FOX NEWS. or GOP TV as one of my freinds likes to call it. watch the movie Outfoxed. it has some interesting interviews with former FOX News employees and some good memos that were leaked from FOX News. its great stuff.
just watch the O'Reilly factor and tell me if you think he is "fair and balanced"
(false advertising anyone?)

Fear not, the Democrats are cutting their funding so they should be taken care of very soon.
There are people who claim FDR prolonged the Great Depression. Your average Joe is tricked by the Democrats into believing he helped Americans go through it.
McCarthy was right! Every single democrat in congress was on KGB's payroll, even some republicans! I swear, I did see a book that said that the liberals made up every bad stuff about him. That is disgusting!
I also read a few lines from a book(I think it was by Hannity from Republican TV, Fox) claiming that all other news networks broadcast liberal bias. Now seriously, even if you think Fox is not republican you won't claim that everyone else is democrat.
Many Americans are scared by communists. I would be more scared by the reactionaries who are forgotten in their midst. I think that the Cold War has ensured that communists will be considered worse than conservatives.
The right wing is more threatening. They begin claiming that their opponents are radical liberals fueled by a hatred of the United States. Listen to the republicans in the last election. Unamerican. Unpatriotic. Unamerican. Unpatriotic...
THAT is the conspiracy. The US is becoming Oceania because of crazy right wingers, like the PNAC.

Have you ever watched that channel? I mean its pretty blatant at times, especially with O'Reilly. But to be fair, politics aside he just seems like a douche.

O'Reilly is prince of the GOP. I have read some of his stuff in papers and watched his show a little. He was obvious in his support of Bush and the war in Iraq. He claims to be balanced, but that would be like Cheney claiming to have balanced views.
In general they seem to employ a number of oddballs. I watched the show called Heartland about ten months ago. They were talking about god's presence in the court room. The host ended the debate saying that Christianity ended slavery. Okay...sure.

FOX News. It's a different network. In the 24-hour news business like CNN and CNBC.

Man, there NEEDS to be a vast Libertarian conspiracy.
As far as a vast right-wing conspiracy? I doubt it. As most anything involving a conspiracy, knowledge of such is religated to a small, upper-tier group that dupes the rest.
Vast misled public on the other hand?
Maybe.

There's a reason that the "Fox" in FOX News is all capitalized. It's an acronym for Fellating Odious eXecutives.
But there's also a strong anti liberal bias in the mainstream media, it's just that because it's so strong they only allow the right wing people to complain about biases, so you only hear about a left leaning bias, which doesn't actually exist. Otherwise how do you explain how under Clinton they made every effort to make something out of nothing with Monica Lewinski, but now one travisty after another is swept under the rug and no Republican is ever called out on a bald faced lie. I.E. Bill Frist recently saying that it was Liberals who came up with the term "Nuclear Option" just because it started testing poorly?
Right wingers may complain "how come so many stories about Bush are negative, and so few are positive?" Answer: because he isn't doing anything right. To write stories about how he's doing a good job you need to turn to fiction, not news. Now my question is if they're so liberal, why do they keep calling him a popular president when he one by the narrowest margin of any wartime president and is polling at less than 50% approval?

con = with
spire = breathe
Hmmm. I wonder how many things fit under that definition?
Any group of people as a group that does things differently than any other group is a part of some conspiracy. Whether or not there's subterfuge and acrimony and manipulation is another matter ... maybe someone might post examples ....? :gundge:

I watch Fox and Friends every morning. And to be completely fair, the shows in question are not presented as news much like editorial sections in newspapers are not news. And to people complaing about O'reilley, 1) he is a pompous asshole, 2) OF COURSE HE IS PRO BUSH THATS HIS JOB. He hosts a right wing show on Fox, and frankly if he didnt fawn over the GOP and such he should be fired for not doing his job. Sheesh. Watch the regular news and not the shows.
Didn't we hear all about it when one of them confessed? It consisted of one rich guy with a personal hardon for Clinton and a reporter who actually told one lie (not related to Clinton) and just dug up all the bad news he could on Clinton and pushed it out into the public view. Mind you this isn't the same thing as the right-wing movement, but is the extent of the "conspiracy".

If you are going to complain about bias at a news media outlet, at least have the courtesy to complain about segments that are supposed to be unbiased. O'Reilly has never claimed to be unbiased. He is basically the TV equivalent of a newspaper editorial. It is his job to be biased.

As a psychic i'm going to be blunt and simple about this. You don't have to believe me but hey, I'm expecting as much..
The right-wing does have a conspiracy.
But it's been so engrained into us for so long that only an act of God could uncover it's truth and the left is playing right into it because they are stupid. But the left will retaliate time and time again when they catch wind of something and we'll fight to change it and will suceed because they are stronger. But the right-wing has already cooked up a whole new scheme to keep the left guessing.
And this was nature's intention all along.
