This team descended to a depth of 6,842 feet ( 2,080 meters ) in the Krubera cave complex in the Ukraine. I find this fascinating, but would never want to try it myself. For some reason just the thought of trying to squeeze through those narrow openings and being that far underground gives me the willies! [ shudders ]

I would so freak out down there... How deep it is possible to
get? I mean doesn't it come unbearable?

It's not good if you're claustrophobic, of course. But with some source of light caves are very comfortable.
Unless it starts raining.

Yeah, now I'm going to have nightmares no doubt...
The whole idea is disturbing imo...

I found some lava caves in utah that were awesome
we squeezed thru some crazy small holes that opened up into large caverns
magnificent fun

I would think the air would become unbreathable. It being that deep, there can't be any fresh air getting down there.
I'd probably take some oxygen down with me.. incase.

caves are actually very comfortable. a pretty much constant temperature of 52 degrees, the humidity is never unbearable, unless it's flooding, and snot rock is actually a very comfortable thing to sit on. not to mention cave mud is really fun to get in fights with. yes, the absolute darkness can be offputting, but that's what headlamps are for.
